I"m building an old Revell XKE and trying to come up with a better answer for wire wheels. The kit wire wheels are solid and not realistic. I have several sets of Fujimi wire wheels, but they are 17" diameter and far too wide. Since the XKE wheel wells are fairly narrow I've gone with a narrow tires from and old AMT kit. Each tire then needs to be carved to fit the 17" diameter wheel. Once that is done cut off the excess wheel width.
I have looked online and not found any other solutions. In the past I did get a set of photo etched wires for a Ferrari GTS but they would be too wide even if I could find another set.
Any other solutions?
