The bad news was the first thing I saw, when the alarm clock rang this morning.
We've seen plenty of great F1 drivers since the very first GP, but only a few make into legend.

A true legend, such sad news. I was really hoping that the lung transplant would give him a few more years, but apparently the damage was too great.
RIP.

Wow, such sad news to wake up to.
Funny thing, my wife mentioned the movie Rush last night. Going to have to watch it again.
I love the smell of Tenax in the morning....It smells like a day off work.

A great loss to the motor racing world. Lauda, Emmo and Stewart are the primary drivers that got me so interested in F! during the '70's. Lauda was a hero in so many ways, especially overcoming that horrific burn. So sad.

Niki Lauda epitomises a different generation F1 racers for me. Whether it was his incredible return to racing so soon after the crash at the Nürburgring, or his no-nonsense, tell it like it is, approach to everything he did, he was in a class of his own.

Torsten,
thanks for posting Niki Lauda's passing. Most likely his transplanted lung was being rejected. A true 3 time world champion that will be surely missed.
