The Citroën H Van, Type H, H-Type or HY is a panel van (light truck) produced by the French automaker Citroën between 1947 and 1981. It was developed as a simple front wheel driven van after World War II. A total of 473,289 were produced in 34 years in factories in France and Belgium. (Source: Wikipedia). EBRO have released kits of 3 different versions of the Type H, and here Bill Horton gives us his thoughts on the Mobile Kitchen version in a full build review.

Bill,
That's one great review of shall we say a Nitch auto/truck subject. Like you said, Ebbro has given us a almost totally neglected iconic subject; A food truck.

By me, 99% of them are Hot Dog trucks which the vast majority of owners know me by 1st name. Ok, I'm a Hot Dog junkie.

Unlike Ebbro who supplied Beer & Wine bottles, the strongest drink on these trucks is Root Beer.

Great review Bill. Super cool kit, that have been on my wish list, since the first time I laid my eyes on it.

A shame about the accessories, unlike 1/35 scale there are not that much after market to choose from.

A vehicle like this just screams for a figure or two, or more. Again not that much after market, in this scale.

Apologies, I should have checked that the link to the In-Box actually worked. All fixed now.

Hi Bill

Stunning build! Touches like the fried egg are absolute gems that bring it all to life!

This is a kit I'd have never normally touched with a proverbial barge-pole - but your inspirational build may well have sold me on geting one!

All the best

Thank you, Rowan. It was intimidating for me, as well, as I had no idea how to paint all that stuff. I just made it up as I went along and got lucky. Ebbro makes at least four versions of this van, and if you look at the latest SAE some guy converted one into a French television truck that is a spectacular build. The truck can be a canvas for a really interesting build....give it a try!
