Just in time for the Blue Oval campaign, a movie on Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles developing the GT40 for LeMans. Due out in November, I am sure there is some dramatic licence in this but nice to see one of the great Ford cars in action.
Trailer is on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyYgDtY2AMY

Hi, Joel!
I didn't much care for the "Patton" movie- The "truth" about General Patton is much more entertaining and enlightening.
Read: "PATTON A Genius For War", by Carlo D'Este. I'm not going to go into a book-review, but this book answers many questions about Patton, the human-being, and why he was the way he REALLY was...

But, why-oh-why, did it have to be Matt Damon? Ughh.
Other than that, I'll probably go see it.

David,
I'll check out that book for sure.
Yeah, the movie was more Hollywood then Biographical, but I just loved it. Same with Midway. BTW, it's number 4 on my list.
There haven't been very many racing movies that I enjoyed, as most were so unrealistic that it just killed it for us enthusiasts. Driven really sucked. There was one Indy Car movie that recently came out that I just never got to see. of course Optimum cable On Demand doesn't have it as yet, because I keep on checking.

I am sure there is some dramatic licence in this...
Hi there
It looks fun - but it sounds like they've certainly done so with Ken Miles' accent! Judging by the trailer, he's ended up sounding more like Vinnie Jones! My Dad was a fellow Brummie (and a racer - albeit on motorbikes) from the same era and he would not have approved at all! Like Ken Miles, Dad spoke with classic "received pronunciation" of the period - nothing like the cliched Cockney "Cor Blimey Guvnor!" in the trailer...
You can get an idea of how Ken Miles really spoke HERE.
All the best

Rowan,
Thanks for the link. I loved every second of it. The track that it was filmed at was Riverside Ca, which got what a lot of tracks from that era got, the bulldozer as civilization moved to close, and nose became an issue.
Sure hope that the movie handles Miles death in a respectful and accurate manner.

Rowan,
I think the subtly of the range of accents in the UK escaped Hollywood a long time ago.
cheers

Jesper,
Yep, Rush is another excellent racing movie I never got to see. But I'll correct that in short order.
