Honestly, wanting a second coat of yellow at this point is looking for trouble (unless you have some hidden defects). Light colors are difficult to apply and you just did a beautiful job! But if you're confident - go ahead! I'm waiting the final result with interest

Looking very nice Jim. Like Gabriel said, if you have some visible thin spots or touch-ups that need covering, go for it. Otherwise, that Yellow coat looks good.

I'm also curious as to why you're thinking about another color coat after these coats have dried and cured?

Your present color coats need to be treated almost like you would with primer, as the new top color coat won't be any better then the base color base coats. Believe, I learned that lesson the hard way on more then a few occasions.

It's not that it needs an entire new topcoat. There are some places where the paint didn't get. I'm not actually sure if it will be worth it to try to hit those little areas at the risk of messing up the rest of the model though.

I painted my Honda RA272, in Tamiya racing white laquer paint. Some areas was in need of some light sanding and touch up. Had No problems what so ever, with that.
Just go light, if you do want to give it another coat.

All I can say is if it bothers you, then go for it. But just give the color coat a very lite wet sanding that will correctly prep it for another coat of Yellow.

My fear of just spot painting is that you'll create an uneven coat, that might have a shadow look to certain areas at certain angles.

Finished this up today. It was a pleasurable build, and everything fit quite well. All in all, I am please with the results.

Jim, you should be pleased with your result! I like it. The yellow paint turned out nice after all. also some details as half full radiator bottle and nicely picked up battery terminals add alot to the picture. Well done job, Congratulations!

D, the next adventure is the Revell 1957 Ford Sedan Gasser for the Strip, Track & Trail Group Build, and the AMT Plymouth Valiant Scamp Short Track race car.
