Less than 4 months until we kick this into gear, does anybody want to take the reins as Group Leader? We need to get a submission done and formalise proceedings.

I'll put my name forward, but give it at least 10mins so the others can get their names in.

Thanks Michael, your appointment is confirmed! Are you familiar with the process of submitting a Group Build proposal? Once you have it submitted I will get it approved and link it here.

Gratuitous and self-indulgent '57 Nomad shots to add some colour!

Cheers, D

EDIT: Simple set of rules for this one!
To me, the definition of a "Dream Car" is anything with wheels that you would just love to have sitting in your driveway or garage at home! Car, truck, bike, bus, tractor, ride-on mower, whatever!

What? No interview? I had been sweating on the details since I have no clue about running the show. You had better fill me in on the details.

Michael, running the Group Build is easy, you just need to maintain a presence and encourage things along, and answer any queries as best you can. There will always be Admin staff not far away to assist.

To submit the proposal, go to the "Campaigns" page and you will see a button "PROPOSE A CAMPAIGN". Once you enter that next stage things are fairly self-explanatory. Fill out the form as much as you can and hit "SUBMIT" at the bottom, and Admin staff take it from there to make sure the details are correct and make it live!

Don't hesitate to ask if anything is unclear.

Cheers, D.

BTW, here's another Nomad

A big thanks to Michael (Cosimodo) for taking the lead role on this Group Build. We are now LIVE so please visit the Group Build page HERE to check out the rules and regs and enlist!

I think this will be another excellent turnout, and with no real restriction on the types we should see a great range of builds!

Great to see you here Robert, and thanks for joining in!

What an excellent choice, and a very new release I believe? I would love to see this one released in 1/24 as I have a pair of 170V kits sitting in the stash already.

I think that the addition of the music selection is an excellent idea as well, I'm sure that the song list will be as varied as the cars!

It's rather a rare choice, and the family will for sure react on this, not going for a Citroën, as we are dedicated to. But the 170 is such an extremely nice design, especially the one I choose for the build.
Will be my first automobile in this scale. Knowing the detail put into the engineering, MiniArt have a reputation, it gives a lot of opportunities detailing it. So gonna have a dive into that part over the coming months until the start of the campaign.

I'm not sure if you've seen it, but Darren Baker (CMOT) did a comprehensive review of this kit here on Automodeler back in April this year. It really does look like a great kit and I look forward to following your build.

Three more months of race cars before we get to dream about what we would love to have in the garage.
So time for some more dream cars, and yes folks, they do exist outside of Chevrolets.
These are my three cars I would buy if I won the lottery
Alfa Romeo Monza 6C

Bentley R-Type Continental

Lancia Aurelia Spider

cheers

Certainly not your typical dream cars there Michael, but a great selection! That "fastback" Bentley is one that I've never seen before, classic lines!

If race cars are your dreams here's a trip through history of Le Mans cars I am sure we would all enjoy.

1930 Bentley

1953 C-type Jaguar

1967 Ford

2000 Audi

All these cars are currently available to dreamers with space in the garage though the Audi may not be so good for a trip to the mall. Personally, I think I would make space for the Ford.

So far I just placed a picture of a dream car, for some reason it's an "affordable car".
My ultimate dream car, yes here we go again beloved family, it is a French Car (Big C), but what is it.
One guy at my office asked me once, what would you do if you win the big annual Jackpot. My answer: I would have a lady driver bringing me everywhere I wanna go in this car:

Anyone?

I don't have to look this one up. A Facel Vega! I like French cars, such panache.
Great choice Robert. When you have your chauffer organised, swing by and pick me up.

The early big limo's Facel Vega produced had the suicide doors. Story goes American Mob had them because the cars were faster than any other car by that time. If you're familiare with the famous "Auto Mobile and Culture" Table Book, it shows the example of the Mob Car of the Chicago Maffia i believe, long time ago.

Damien,
Who wouldn't want that in their garage? Except maybe my wife.

Well not all dreams have four contact patches on the tarmac. Some say real freedom comes from just two.
So for the connoisseurs, here are some elegant airheads.
BMW r75 bobber

BMW r80 café racer

and a slammed r90 T

and for those with less Teutonic tastes, some HDs perhaps

1963 Panhead chopper

1927 Hillclimber

1947 Knucklehead

gotta be room for 1 or 3 of these in your garage...or may be you're waiting for the best of british. Wait and see.

cheers

Some great looking bikes there Michael, really nice! I've got an Imai 1/12 Harley Low Rider and a pair of Matchbox 1/12 Vincent Black Shadows in the stash.

Only about 10 weeks to go folks, I'll just leave these here-

If I have to fill this thread up with '57 Nomad images, I will do so with great reluctance

We only have 2 months to go before this GB starts up, and 8 enlisted. Let's kick it into higher gear and get some inspiration going folks!

Cheers, D
