Hi Everybody, I'm glad that this new forum has arisen!! Been wanting to show you guys some of my "other" subjects.
This is my newly finished Tamiya Nismo Skyline GTR sporting the Xanavi sponsor logos. This kit is the Special Addition, and comes with carbon fiber decals, a fret of PE, and Cartograph Decals. This is the first car I've done in a year and a half, I was put off of cars for a while after a couple of disastours. It's a little rough in a couple of spots, but I am very happy with the way it turned out. I will be taking the lessons learned from this build, and build the #22 Motul car. Tire logos were done by using Acu-Stion's PE Tire Logo Templates, and even with slight over spray, it's good, that's how the logos are put on the real thing! Seat belt hardware is from Scale Motorsport. Hope ya like it!
-Kelly

The body was painted with Tamiya Spray paints, polished out with Tamiya rubbing compounds, I then added a gloss coat, followed by decalling, another two gloss coats, some light rubbing out, and finally three coats of Tamyia wax.

Very nice, Kelly. I've always admired the finish model car folks apply.

Hey Kelly, nice build. You did a great job no the deacls they look straight and the paint looks smooth. The carbon fiber decals also look super, they are tricky to apply. I see you out lined the openings as well, that adds to the detail in the paint. Nice car.

Thanks Guys, of course I always pick the cars with insane paint and decal schemes...two toning is not my strength. Next version, I will paint the whole car the aluminum, then apply the red on top of that, I got some bleed through, as I did the car in red, then aluminum. I always use a .005 marker for doing doors, hood and trunk lines, it really gives it that depth. The CF decals were not as hard as I thought , I used the kit supplied ones, and with some Microsol, they settled down nicely. I was going to uset the SMS CF decals, but the set I had must have been old or something, as soon as it hit the water, they disentigrated. Which is weird, because that never happens when I use them.

Ok, I'll bite where do the guns and bomb racks go?
Seriously though, looks great. I have a few of those "Other" models in my stash. I should probably build one some day to break the cycle of greens and grays. Once again, looks great. "Q"

As one who goes to many races and sees these cars upclose...i have to say you've got quite a replica here...I especially like the stencilled tire brand effect...just like the big ones...great job (:-)
