Was this the same model as "The Judge"? I remember that one Bright orange same body style.
Yep, only the only "real" Judge was the '69 GTO. It had a 400 cid. and came in "Grabber Orange".
As a little history lesson, I can tell ya'll this,
The first GTO was actually a '64 Pontiac Tempest sport package designed by none other than John DeLorean. It wasn't it's own model until 1965.
In 1966, a re-design of it's body style finally gave it the "growler" front end and a 389cid. Tri-barrel carb system cooked the tires
1967 was the most popular body style and continued the 389cid engine. The only noticable differance between the '66 and '67 bodystyles was that the grill pattern went from a "+++" (Horizontal and verticle) on the '66 to a "xxx" (diagonal) on the '67.
In 1968 the body style changed to the "A" body style. It also beefed up the engine to a 400cid. This is the model I built, a 1968.
In 1969, Pontiac came out with "The Judge". The same body style as 1968, but, with a "High Output" 400cid., a 400 Transmission, the "Grabber Orange" paintjob and the rear spoiler.
In 1970, the GTO changed it's body style a little more, keeping a "RS" model and also a Judge variant. It also kept the 400cid. engines, both "Regular" and "High Output" Judge.
In 1971, they "officially dropped the "Judge" model yet kept the "H.O." engine as an extras package.
In 1972 (My favorite year of the GTO models) the bodystyle had changed yet again, with the long, RAM-AIR hood scoop and jumped the engine up to a 455cid High Output and a 400 transmission.
1973, they decided to downgrade the GTO package back to a LeMans "extra". The same with '74.
There it ends. There was no 1975 GTO despite what ANYBODY tells you.
Well, that's my history lesson for today. I hope ya'll enjoyed!
