Does anyone know of any makers of AM parts for fire fighting trucks? Preferably in 1/32 I'd say 1/35 but I know there won't be any in that scale What I am looking to do is convert an Italeri GMC water tanker into a fire truck that was used by the U.S. Army Here's a link to what I would like to build

you could use the Monogram 1/32 Snap pumper kit... it has ladders and some other equip. on it

I'm currently building a Class 500 pumper from the Fire trucks at war site using the Tamiya LRDG Chevy, so I've been looking into 1/35 scale accessories myself.

That tanker is also project I have planned as well, but I need to find a tanker first.

As far as parts there is the mentioned 1/32 Mack, there have also been some Lindberg and Aurora fire apparatus kits too, but they usually go for a fair amount when you can find them on ebay. The Mack is pretty easy to find with or without the police car and it is usually cheap.

You might have some luck with some parts over at the Scale Firehouse, there is a good chance someone might have something they would be willing to trade off, 1/32 is not nearly as popular as 1/25 and 1/64 (kit bashed diecasts) so there is a good chance people have stuff laying around in that scale.

Model Truck and Fire Apparatus used to have some 1/32 stuff, the company has been bought and is now American Industrial Truck Models, I think they still have the same inventory as MTFACO.

Finally military fire apparatus are pretty spartan compared to civilian apparatus, you can make alot of the stuff yourself. I've built ladders and draft hose from styrene, it looks as good or better than some of the kit stuff.

Yep, thats where I've been looking, there is one right now but they are asking $29, I think I can do better and I'm not in a hurry, still have other projects to keep me busy.

Kind of on the same subject, anyone know of any 1/32 scale Stokes litters? I am about to start on a HH-60G CSAR helo using the Academy 1/35 kit and haven't been able to find any. I had resigned to scratching it with wire an soldering it. None of the above sites have any litters though.

I am not suggesting this as the whole answer due to cost, but: the Franklin Mint has this truck with a Stokes on the ladder.

It is the plastic Stokes, not the wire one. Maybe since someone does make a 1/32 Stokes, just the parts are available from a Franklin Mint source. Now if you would like some photos of a wire Stokes Basket to try to make one, we have one here at work that I would be happy to measure and take photos of for you.

Thanks, Patrick. It would be cost prohibitive to get the whole truck for the litter. I was looking for the wire one anyways. Thanks for the offer of pics, but I have all the referances I need. Looks like I will still have to scratch it.
