to make the"Lenses" use some 2 part epoxy and apply it over the gauge decals!
I use drops of epoxy to make warning lights also, then paint with clear red paint.

also its a good idea to drill out the moulded in gauges just enough to remove the raised details, it makes the decals fit on better! especially for the Tach

I use something a little easier than mixing up two-part epoxy. Just use some Future or Klear (depending on where you live). It doesn't yellow like epoxy does.

It also works great for attaching windows and interior rear view mirrors (the kind mounted right to the inside of the windscreen).

I have had epoxy yellow on me over time, especially if I don't get the proportions exactly right.

If I am looking for extra depth, I just do multiple coats, but, since the glass on gauges is real thin, I rarely do it that way.

Just another way of doing things thats all. Besides, where I am , I get Future real cheap, I take it from my wife's cleaning supplies. It guaranties that it is always fresh. :-) :-) :-)
