Richard, this is one of the most thought after motorcycle kit ever made. I have one and it is one of my most treasuered kit. I will build it one day because It does not do it's justice just sitting in the box.

I would get another one if isnt the fact that this kit is located in Netherland. If anyone of you who is interested in building motorcycle like me, this one is a must!

Here's a picture of a built version

Found this very old thread through Google, when looking for information about a Protar AJS 7R Boy Racer 1/9 kit I brought a couple of days ago for £10. It's brand new in a sealed box, I just brought it to make, but they seem quite rare, so I'm wondering if it's worth selling on, as I've got no great interest in bikes.
Anyone know if these are worth anything - if not I'll just build it!

Richard,
I think there have been sporadic reissues of this kit from time to time, I remember seeing one in a LHS a year or two ago. It also had a pretty high price.

Gareth,
Italaeri/Revell have reissued some of the old Protar kits including the 7R I think, but not the G50 or the Norton Commando. Whether they have plans for the rest I don't know. There was a quite a range of Italian bikes also, but they don't seem to be doing those at the moment, apart from an MV. BTW I saw an assembled Manx Norton from Protar which appeared to be an new issue yesterday in a model shop. This may be a new trend with the assembled bikes being issued as Protar. It looked like the original kit to me, having made it. I'd put your kit together personally.

Thanks for the info. I could have brought the G50 for the same price, but had never heard of the brand, so I didn't want to take the risk.

Thanks for the various offers to buy the kit, but if it's not particulary valuable, I think I'll make it up instead.

Hi,

Being a keen motorcycle modeler I would like to purchase the AJS 7R, let me know how much you want for it.

Cheers,

Rob.
