I haven’t built a bike in a few years so I thought I would do one now lol
This will be the All Japan Road Race version in the Honda colors, ridden by Keiji Kinoshita
So far I worked on the stand, I added weld seams, and brass rod for axels on the wheels. I went with a red color for Honda
And I painted the frame with aluminum , and gave it a light wash to bring out some detail.

Very nice so far. One question - would the 'pins' in the chain be as gold as they appear? My bike chain is all a uniform color - I just don't know about motorcycles. More for education than critique.

Yes, some bikes, especially Japanese ones, have either gold colored chains or gold colored sprockets.
And now they are starting on Italian bikes aswell ( like Ducatis ).

yes on race chains the colors are always clean .
you can see some racing chains here
http://www.ekchain.com/sport.htm
the chain on my bike is pretty much one color to, but on a street bike they get dirty and what not.

Very well done - I like the subtle color variations on the metal finishes.
Can't wait to see an engine mounted in there.

I painted all the body work with flat white, it covers better than gloss..
then i cleared that, then decaled and cleared again.

I installed the exhaust pipes, and did the heat stains by dry brushing gold and silver..

Here's the lesson - I didn't realize the engine was so low on this beast. I was expecting a high stance and without dry brushing I just thought the engine was part of the exhaust. Now with some drybrushing on the engine really stands out.

I painted the handle bars. I made new bar ends, and added bolts and stuff on the levers. Finished off with dry brushing.

Very impressive James, and a very usefull tip for a gloss white finish.
Just one observation, you painted the front fork legs what looks like aluminium in the picture. They are (as you no doubt know) chrome.
Ace job on those handlebars btw.
Looking forward to more progress.
Cheers
Henk
