Looks good Jim, where did this engine come from. I'm asking because it is full of detail not found on a shelf kit. I know of some of the PE as I used them before.

The GTX...street or strip, can't wait to see the car photos which I'm sure they'll look as great as your stockers.

Nice detail work. What is the fan belt made of?

You realize - when you do such good work you get a lot of questions - all good of course.

thanks guys!,

@ Joe,
the engine is from the kit, i added some aluminum pullys to dress up the front

@ Scott,
the belt is just paper, i cut a thin strip and used a magic marker to color it.

Paper is good! I wouldn't have thought of that. I probably would have gone with a foil of some type. Yours is convincing..

Very nice, even down to the extended rubber on the plug wires coming out of the spark plug tubes, but is that an AC clutch on the front of the alternator?

Here it is after some paint.
The BMF that’s on it now I applied before I painted, next up is some clear coat then I can finish up the rest of the trim.

Paintjob looks great James.
Any particular reason, you applied some of the BMF, before painting?

Yeah, it’s the only way to make the lettering and emblems, you just polish the paint off them and you’re left with chrome.

I do it on other body trim like the wheel openings, and side body trim because you get a perfect edge that way, by just polishing off the paint.

Do you use any polishing paste or just a dry piece of cloth?

The interior is looking really good James. Did you give the chorme trim between the front seats a wash? I really like the look of it. It looks as if it has some debth.

Man James this Hemi is S.W.E.E.T sweet. I’ve been watching this take shape and you have it nailed down. Your bare metal foiling work is top notch, shouldn’t have any problems with winning with this one. Few questions…what is the body color, can’t tell if it’s Hugger Orange with the lighting, also what color did you use for the interior, love the look. Looks real clean. We have a local boy that races one here, only difference is that his hood is in flat black. Great job and waiting for more.

thanks guys,

@ Joe.

the color is "pumpkin orange" from Krylon Fusion, its pretty close to the "Vitamin C " color they had back in the late 60's

the interior is just flat black, then i cleared it with a semi gloss clear to give it some shine .

Great bumper. Great last update too, Iike color contrast and the seam lines.

I do have to say that black is hard to photograph well. Nothing to do with your skill or your interior. I've photographed a black RX7 and it is hard to make it 'pop' as well as other colors.

The BMF...

BMF as for Bare Metal Foil? I'm just returning to the site after being away a while and not up to date on abreviations...
