Operational Overview
In 1984 one of the most famous military softskin vehicles was finally produced to replace the US armies ageing M151 Mutt series. The High Mobility Multipurpose vehicles (HMMWV or Humvee as it is know) was first designated the M998 troop carieer and produced by AM General. Since then AM General has delivered more than 150,000 Humvees and exported them to over 30 friendly nations.

The Humvee first saw action shortly after 11PM on the 19 December 1989 for Operation Just Cause (Panama). Then came its first extensive operation was the 1991 Gulf war and more recently served all US armed forces In Operation Iraqi fredom, with over 10,000 being used. There have been man different designations since the first M998 these include:

M1025 Armament carrier
M996 Tow launcher
M1046 up-armoured Tow version
M1114 Up-armoured armament carrier
M1097 Heavy Avenger
M997 Maxi ambulance
M1026 armament carrier with winch and MK19 fitted
Special forces Dumvee
M1113 Uparmoured IDF Humvee
Hummer-civillian version

The Humvee has also been sold worldwide to many friendly nations including, Taiwan, Italy, Israel and Switzerland to name a few.

The Rules and Regs
The idea of this campaign is to primarily have fun! I dont think there has been a Humvee campaign before so i wont be too strict. Basically build any type of Humvee from any nation within the excepted scales ( I dont think there are any smaller Humvees that 72nd and no humvees bigger than 1/35) You can build the model out of the box or as im sure many will do, convert it to something a little more interesting e.g Pro Art models Dumvee conversion to name one HMMWV conversion available. You can do what you want with you Humvee-build a crew, add stowage, if you're feeling very ambitiouseven build a destroyed one from Iraq. There are many details available so the possibilties are endless-you are only restricted by your wallet :). I will except stand alone model or small vignettes, but no dioramas with other vehicles. You can build a dio if you only intend to include Humvees and a few troops, but you will be marked for the Humvee and not the overall diorama.

-Have fun
-Models can be OOTB, scratch built, or detailed and converted
-Any version or nation
-It would be nice if you kept us up to date with you build but not criteria
-Try and enter something that you havent already built e.g enter a model in that you will havebuild during the time period
-Civillian Hummers are now allowed, to appeal to any non military modellers. Obviously bigger scales are now allowed aswell.
