Miss Paget's team comprised of two Bentley Blowers both with 4.4L supercharged I4 engines, number 8 was driven by Dr. Dudley Benjafield and Giulio Ramponi, this car completed 144 laps taking tenth position.
The other car; number 9 driven by Sir Henry 'Tim' Birkin and Jean Chassagne completed 138 laps and finished in eleventh position.
One of the cars set the lap record with 144.3 kilometres per hour, unfortunately both Bentley Blowers failed to complete the race due to technical difficulties.
The kit comprises of six sprues and a set of five solid rubber tyres.
Sprues one to four are moulded in dark green which is very close to "British racing green" and have a good level of detailing, the dashboard is particularly good. There are some raised seams and minor flashing but nothing that cannot be easily cleaned with a craft knife.
Sprue five is the clear plastic parts while the sixth is chrome finished; finally the seventh are solid rubber tyres.
The instruction book is Revell of Germany's usual standard with clear line drawings to illustrate the kit assembly.
The kit seems very good and being cast in dark green could be assembled by a beginner with very little painting. Chrome parts (if you are familiar with them) will present the usual challenge in handling and fixing, and several of them are quite small so patience will be required especially on the single wheel nuts if you want the wheels to turn freely.
The kit would be most satisfying for a model builder with some experience, although a minor point it would have been nice of Revell of Germany to provide the number 9 on the decal sheet to give you a choice of which car in the Paget team to finish the model as.
You will see from the images that although this is a “box review” I assembled the engine block and the detail is quite good.
