The Russian brand ANT Miniatures is a pretty moving company, releasing many miniatures , and having as main field of thematology Russian subjects. For me this is the second touch with Ant miniatures and I am here putting under scope the Drunk Cossack - Russia 1812
Sculpted by S. Schekaturov. Boxart Painted by A.Zinovieva
The kit
A dark blue hard paper box with foam protection holds safely all 3 white metal pieces of the figure. (2 for figure and one for the base)
Included also are 2 colored pictures of the painted boxart. Also one long detailed list of colors for every piece of the miniature.
The figure depicts a Russian Cossack in 1812 era, drunken and still holding the bottle in hand, stepping on enemy pieces of equipment (probably after some battle)
There is also a good size base with sculpted on an enemie hat, a sword and some more pieces of equipment (protectos etc).
Pieces:
The whole figure minus the left hand
left hand
base
Quality and Detail
The figure is good enough in quality and sculpting, and the pose and theme makes it interesting since its something different.
The anatomical is good and the figure is well balanced, and will stand still without tacking it or anything.
Material - metal – is good enough, the surface is pretty clean , and there is not much of molding lines. I would rather say that there are not almost at all
Just to improve what u get, u will just to need a soft touch with fine wire wool, to polish the metal. Then some washing in bath with a mild detergent – water mix to make it as clean as it gets before priming.
Painting
The figure is a medium regarding painting difficulty. Wide open hands and spreaded feet will ease up the painting. The details on the clothes will be needing some patience and good eye to make the proper result . There is also a 2 colored trousers but nothing very difficult to be honest
Conclusion – Final Verdict
Its the second touch with Ant Miniature figures and it’s a better one than the older figure I reviewd just before. I am confident that Ant is keeping improving the quality, and the next items that we will see , will be much better , than the previous one
This is a “different” piece and u could try to have it in the showcase for a change .

I loved to build dioramas and military vehicles till the Vietnam Era. I don't like modern stuff so much. 4 years ago I had a crush on figure painti...
