introduction
Untiring sculptor
Vladimir Demchenko didn’t slow down on the summer months and brought us new Vietnam War figures as he also added more figures to Indochina War series and restarted sculpting World War II figures with the latest Pacific War addition.
After the single figure kit B6-35008
US Mech. Infantry Sergeant, BRAVO-6 released a two-figure Mech.Infantry kit that can be used on a M113 vehicle.
B-6 35009 US Mech.Infantry(2) Bros, Nam ‘68 represents two black American soldiers in full equipment chatting on a vehicle during transport.
box
The figures come well packed in standard BRAVO-6 light brown cardboard box in 50x80x25 mm dimensions. The front part of the box shows a photo of the assembled and painted figures which can serve as a basic painting guide.
The figures and other small parts like arms, personal gear and rifles are seperately inserted in small plastic zip-lock bags to avoid unexpected damages during storage and transfer. Parts are represented with the casting blocks but can be easily removed with no damage.
parts
Both of the figures are sculpted by
Vladimir Demchenko and come in medium grey resin parts as all other BRAVO-6 figures. The resin quality is very good and details are crisp. No air bubbles, excess resin or any casting mistakes on the figure. The junctions between figure parts and casting blocks were well placed and the parts can be easily removed from the blocks with no damage. The figures are almost ready to paint with no need for a cleanwork. I advice you to be careful on rifles as M-16s should be removed carefully from the casting block as rifle muzzles are fragile and can be damaged.
The main parts of both figures are
Body with head and legs. Facial details are nicely represented. One of the figures wears a colored wool cap over his bandana as the other one has a head band on his hand. They wear typical US Army tropical combat uniform with 4 flip-top cover pockets jacket, trousers with 2 flip-top cover cargo pockets on the sides and black leather-OD canvas jungle boots. Details and cloth folds of the uniforms are well defined. M-1956 LCE ( Load Carrying Equipment) which consists of canvas utility belt and equipment suspenders with M-16 ammo pouches on both sides are sculpted on the figures. The figure with the cap carries a sweat towel on his neck.
Arms are given as seperate parts for the figures as one of them has long sleeves and the other wear upfolded. Cloth folds are well defined and insignia on the left upper arm is sculpted on the figures.
Same type of personal gear is given for both figures.
M1956 Small arms case or compass pouch
M-1956 One quart plastic canteen in canvas cover - 2 pieces
M7 Bayonet in M8A1 scabbard
M61 Fragmentation hand grenade also known as M26A1 – 4 pieces.
M16A1 rifle - 2 pieces.
M1 helmet with Mitchell pattern canvas cover – 2 pieces. One of the helmets has a helmet band as the other has a helmet band with an insect repellent and a matchbox attached.
A water-slide decal sheet with different types of insignia, ranks and nametags are given inside the kit.
conclusion
A very nice two-figure kit that can be displayed over all kinds of Vietnam vehicles especially M113s.
