I have stayed in touch with Hermon via email, and he is still working waaaay too many hours. Selena is recovering well, but still has a way to go and is unable to work. Hermon always sends his regards to the team here, and will be back with us as soon as he is able.
-I just figured he got waaaay to deep into the wingy things...it sucks his wife isn't well after all this time...I'm really sorry to hear that!!!
Shoot, and I thought he was a work-a-holic before...you mean he's worse now?!

A)...the next couple of months I will be focussed on gettin this POS Mopar off the bench
B)and spend some quality time on my beloved '57 Chev.
Cheers, D
A- it'll take you that long to do one right unlike the slapped together chevies{kits too}.
B- Dude, you need a "wife", it's just a car ya know...and I like the 54-55s better!
-I say I have two kids- one son & one daughter...my wife says she has three- one son ,one daughter and one husband.
...and don't tell yourself you can't do it....it'll just take longer then

So I've finally started my Revel 1970 Chevelle SS for the Chev vs mopar build and I've got to say that this kit is the worst one I've seen. The anount of flash and warppage is almost unbearable. I'm not even going to make a jab about the kit being just like a real chevy.
I'll post some images as soon as I get all of the excess material off (it may take a while)

Oh, one more thing, I decided to give my 'Cuda a test drive (nevermind the fact that there doesn't seem to be a driver, that's how awesome MOPAR's are, they practically drive themselves)

Great work Brian, your Hemi looks really nice (although the Chev already looks much better !)
I'm still a chance to get my 'Cuda finished, but the Chev will have to wait until "Chev vs Hemi" round 2.
Cheers, D

Coming down to the wire, but the Judge and the Hemi Dart should be done in time. Here is the Dart sprayed in Testors Pure Gold. It still needs a clear coat.

Heyload,
This is looking very good. I'm with you, I've got some work to do in order to finish my Chevelle. I like the gold paint job.

Well folks we only have a couple of weeks until the end of procedings here, and I officially declare myself as a miserable failure in terms of this Campaign. I think the lead-up discussion thread and the early days (months) of this thread were probably the most entertaining that I have read anywhere, and I am glad we have all had lots of fun, but the pressures of work and home life have dragged me away too much to get either build completed.
I have a cunning plan though. I would like to propose a 3 month sabbatical, and then have another attempt at getting some momentum behind this concept. I would be happy to allow unfinished builds from this Group Build to be entered, but other than that the same rules would apply.
Who's up for another round of good old-fashioned slanging matches combined with an occasional attempt at modeling?
BTW, Tom, the Dart is looking superb mate, excellent job on the gold !
Cheers, D

I'm in. Sign me up. (There's actually a slim chance that I will get both of mine done by March 1st, but only a slim chance).
Remind me again what the reward is for making the deadline; money, power, fame, fortune, ...what was that, I couldn't ear you? A ribbon, you say? AWESOME!! My luck is finally changing, I'm going to call my wife a tell her to pack her bags because we're moving on up in the world!!

All right. I said I'd join next time, and it sounds like next time has come. Count me in!
I've kept an AMT trading card of a '62 ('61?) Chevy Impala on my refrigerator for a few months now (I don't even remember what kit that was stashed in), but never bought the kit yet, so I was a little disappointed that I had missed this one.
I'm excited for Tom's Dart, as that was the Hemi I was going to go with. I still haven't jumped into either camp though, as far as the base argument goes. I keep returning to this thread for the latest information on the failings of either Chevy or Mopar, depending on who wrote last.
Cheers!
-Sean H.

G'day O-D, great to hear from you mate. I'm proposing a 3 month break after this Group Build finishes, then starting up Chev vs Hemi Part 2 as a new Group Build. I will allow any unfinished builds from the current mayhem to be submitted for Part 2, as well as any "Workshop Queens" that may qualify.
Cheers, D

Hey Everybody, Alas, I to am but a shadow of my former modeling self (blew this deadline too).
Damian, fantastic idea! That'll give me enough time to put the 'Cuda back together again (so bad even the model falls apart) and finish the Swel Camino with up-armoring and nice Chimneyville seat covers I found the other day. Hot, Post-apocalyptic Babes make everything better.
Now BACK TO WORK!

Cool, count me in...again. It'll be a hard toss-up to which mopar I'd want to finish, either the 40 plymouth touring or the mod topped charger...at least I got the pinecars done up so as not to disappoint the kids{see trucking section of the forum}.

Great work guyz. I don't normally build things with 4 wheels. I might join in next time. Looks like I have a couple of Fords (does a GPA count?), A Chevy and an MGB in the stash. Hmmm, how about a "Lord of Darkness" GB. British cars from 45-75?

Hey Damien, As a very late afterthought, I have 2 questions.
1. Did anyone get a Demolition Derby ribbon? I figured that Hermon, out of necessity, had to drop the whole thing but I don't know if anyone ever finished that off for him.
B. Does anyone have a desire for DD Round 2? Or maybe we should just focus on End Of Days for the Deathmobiles considering the lack of spare time going around (Isn't it great when people answer their own questions).

Sorted, check the thread when you get a chance.

I'd like to focus on getting my EoD build finished first, but then I'd be up for DD2 for sure. I probably won't have time to run it with everything else that's going on, but count me in !
Thanks for the reminder too mate !

most honoured fellow modellers
Is this campaign as dead as a Chevy with 1000 miles on it, or as alive, vibrant, cool, awesome...you get the picture, as any Mopar?
Did we decide for a part 2 or do we try to revive this one and go all the way to the checkered flag?
Either way, here are a few pics of my almost finished Challenger.
