Just a reminder to all the AMPS chapters, armor SIGs and other modeling groups out there that NEW for the 2016 AMPS International Convention, AMPS is offering FREE model club tables.

These club tables are NOT restricted to only AMPS chapters, but do keep in mind that the AMPS convention is unapologetically an armor-centric event. However, we already have a couple of local IPMS chapter and IPMS/USA tables reserved, so this offer really is open to all scale modeling groups.

Any AMPS chapter, SIG or other interested scale modeling group can request one of these tables by contacting the 2016 hosting chapter, AMPS Central SC at:

info AT ampscentralsouthcarolina DOT org

Or by contacting your AMPS Regional 2VP to pass your request along.

Full details about the new club table program can be found here:

http://www.ampscentralsouthcarolina.org/2016_AMPS_Show.html

Or by following the links from the AMPS website:

http://www.amps-armor.org/ampssite/

Note that for most model clubs, the 2016 AMPS International Convention is ONLY 3 or 4 regular monthly meetings in your club's future, so even if you THINK you just might want a table, there's no time to lose. Get your request in ASAP. The number of available tables is LIMITED and reserved FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

At the end of February, we'll be returning the unreserved club tables back to the convention's vendor coordinator, so we won't be able to guarantee any club tables after then. (Some may still be available after that date, but the vendor coordinator will have first call on them...)

For this year, AMPS will also be making a "Best Club Table Display" award, so the sky's (well, almost) the limit (just read the policy first!) on what you can do. Here's a chance for your club to "strut its stuff" and maybe win that first annual "Best Club Table Display" award!

However, even if your club doesn't want to do any sort of elaborate display, you and a few of your club mates can still stake a claim to a table and call it your "Chapter Convention HQ's" or whatever! Put out a few meeting flyers, some upcoming contest info, stick a poster on the front of the table, and PRESTO-CHANGE'O!, you've got a club table right in the heart of the action and the venue!

This program has been created for this year, because the convention is all about FUN, and we want to involve modelers and modeling groups right into the middle of things!

So... What are you waiting for?! Get with your AMPS club mates and make a plan... Designate one of your mates as your club's POC (yea, somebody has to have that sticky booger on 'em), and then reserve your AMPS Chapter Table today!

So, see ya in Sumter, and 'til then...

Happy Modeling!

This is a real great offer, unfortunately, this show is a little far this time, hopefully next year will be a little further North.

Totally understandable, Kevin.

The 2017 convention will be held at the same venue that's been used for the past few ARMORCON shows, and the host AMPS chapter will be the NMMA folks. That'll be at least a bit closer to you.

Happy modeling!

Mike

That is great news, maybe I can convince our local group to attend with a table for that one.

Thanks for the update.
