Well, we have just about 2 months before the big show. So, start winding down those builds, get club friends to look over your entries and start gearing up for the biggest armor modeling show in North America for 2018. As the glue and paint are drying, don't forget to make a "to do" list for this year's show which is looking to be a blowout, thanks to the AMPS 2018 Show committee.
As some of you planning to attend the show may already know by now, hotel rooms at the Hope Hotel and Convention Center where the show will be hosted, are currently all sold out. Check out the link to other area hotels of the AMPS homepage website, under "Hotels" to review a list of other lodging options in the area.
Now, to help populate that "to do" list, here are a few items to add:
- Review the Show Category sponsorship list and consider sponsoring a show category or "Best of" for this year's show. It's a great way to support the society and award recipients really like walking away with these fantastic trophies.
- Use the AMPS 2018 Show pre-registration option at amps-armor-org, to register your show entries before arriving at the show. Sure beats the hassle of trying to mess with paperwork when you arrive.
- Review your stash and consider donating to the big AMPS raffle. Frank Ciccarella, AMPS Raffle Coordinator aka "Raffle King", is busy coordinating with show vendors and manufacturers for kits, books and tool donations to make this year's AMPS raffle the best yet. AMPS still needs your help. Donations of new condition kits, figures, aftermarket and conversion sets, tools and reference materials would be most appreciated by AMPS, Frank and most certainly, the lucky winner. If you cannot make it to the show this year, you can mail them to Frank at:
Frank J. Ciccarella
5628 W. 89th Street
Oak Lawn, IL 60453
or bring them to the show. You can contact Frank at [email protected] if you have any questions.
- Visit the AMPS homepage to see the latest Review Crew product reviews. Plenty of reviews being submitted and even more in the archives.
-Visit the AMPS homepage and Facebook site to stay engaged with AMPS members all over.
Hope you all have a great time working away in the man cave in anticipation of the show. Until the next AMPS 2018 Show announcement, "model on!"
