Quoted TextI will start a 73 double build to fill in time before the group build starts.
Great idea, a dual-build is always an entertaining and interesting build log to follow.
Have you decided on a kit for the Group Build yet?
Cheers, D
Hi Damian
I like the early Mustangs,
I may go with the 65 fastback,a friend of mine had one in England so may do a tribute build.

There sure is a lot of interest in this Ford build. Has this Group Build been approved yet?

Jim,
It's in the process of being approved. I stepped up to run the GB, and just posted the application.

I checked in and approved the Group Build, but it appears to have disappeared into the never-never somewhere. I have contacted Jim to see if he can find it or if we need to re-submit and will let you all know soon.

Not a good starting omen for me as the mod.

Alright D, you've perverted me. Went to a model show today and spent most of my time looking for a 1956 T-bird, just because I needed part of the front bumper trim for my '51 Ford Tudor project.

I was about 30 seconds from picking this kit up at a local show:
It's a Ford Pinto, so I guess it would count.

And that little Pinto has a 428 in it. Bet it's got some get up & go! Considering the standard 1976 Pinto had 2.3l (140 cid) I-4 or a 2.6l (158 cid) V6.

D,
Thanks for all the help in getting the Blue Oval GB up and running. I'm heading over right now to officially sign up.
Looking forward to guiding the GB, so you can focus on everything else you do for us on AutoModeler.

We need our official ribbon for all the finishers, which I'm sincerely hoping every signup is. My thoughts on this that the Ford Blue Emblem should be our ribbon. Any thoughts one way or the other will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a ribbon guy, but I'm guessing at 20 x 50 were gonna get something like this:
not big enough for the "Ford"
not big enough for the "Ford"

Mark,
That looks pretty good.
I've found plenty of the emblems online, but I need to find out the correct dimensions, so I can resize whatever we decide on. I'm hoping that Damian has a link or knows what they are.
This is what is listed for ribbons:
Awards
Traditionally, campaign ribbons are the preferred award presented to participants when they complete the requirements listed for the activity. If you're going to do something different - list it. Campaign ribbons are most often created by members of our own site - so ask them. Some really interesting ideas come around.
Remember the overriding rule governing campaigns is to have fun! Don't conceive them so twisting and tedious that even you get dizzy reading the parameters. Pick a popular subject, take some thoughts and opinions on the activity, write the best down and send it in.
I do have the ability to send in our choice. I'm guessing that they will correctly resize it.

Thanks to all that have just signed up. I believe we need 3 more for the min of 10, which shouldn't be an issue. Plus Gabriel once he gets back this fall from his European vacation will surely sign on.

FWIW, I think D said we really only needed 7 to create a campaign, due to the lower traffic on Auto Modeler. But since we now have an official campaign, that doesn't matter anymore. The sky's the limit now.
I just have to be on the lookout for a '56 T Bird to get the bumper treatment I'm looking for.

See what happens to your memory when you're cruising past 70.
I'm really looking forward to your T Bird build. I'm not sure if the T bird in American Graffiti was a 56, but if you could include Suzanne Somers, now that would be the hit of GB for sure.

Oh Joel, you are gonna be so disappointed. Actually I'm looking to do a '51 V8 Tudor, like the one my parents had when I was a kid. I think I can modify AMT's 1949 Ford Custom Coupe https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/7/3/7/1026737-26748-32-1080.jpg
by trimming of the trunk hinges, reworking that cannon nose and adding the bullet bumper bits.

Andy,
Welcome to Henry's B'day party.
Don't feel bad about not knowing what you're going to build. I've listed the Ford Gt, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Great to see the rush to enlist, loving the level of enthusiasm around this one folks!
Hi Joel. The ribbon needs to be in .gif format and dimensions 50x20. I use "Paint" as a program to crop and resize and save in different formats, it's super easy.
Idea #1 for a ribbon. I found a nice photo of an actual Blue Oval badge, chrome surround and all, cropped it and resized to what we need for a ribbon.
Thoughts and opinions?
Cheers, D
