Russell,
My wife could care less about what she drives as it's all about getting from point A to point B. For me, it's just as important for the ride there and back. Way more fun going through my sequential 6 speed gearbox then just using the auto trans. I've been known to opt for the out of the way roads rather then those boring super straight expressways.

Michael, very nice progress there, and good research work. I loved the way you detailed the engine compartment and the way you have solved the armrest problem.
Definitely a great build so far!

Elle est fini!
Having a few issues with my photos so I'll have to wait for the weekend and some daylight to do a better set but here is a taster.

A number of finishing issues including the new armrest proving to be about 2 mm too big so the door wouldn't close.

cheers

Looks amazing Michael. Love the light exterior colors, with the contrasting interior colors.

a shame about the armrest, hope you can fix it.

Looking forward to daylight shots.

Super build Michael, really clean finish and great colour combinations.

As Jesper said, bring on the daylight shots!

Michael,
Just an outstanding build. I loved every min. and post. The finished model looks fantastic, and that drivers armrest looks as good if not better then the kit ones. Personally, I'd leave the door open to show off the excellent interior.

Hi Michael,

I think you really nailed the colors on this build - really looks like it’s from the period, like an auto show display car - maybe it’s the subtle exterior colors against the sharp interior? In any event is looks great!

Cheers

Thank you all!
Here are the final photos.

the door does close now, just won't stay in position.
The chrome plate stickers work well and look great but you have to be very careful because they are stickers and not decals. Once off the backing paper on to the model they stick and quite difficult to move into place. Other than that, I liked this kit, despite its missing armrest, it builds into a very version of a Citroen DS.

Thanks for your support for this one.

cheers
Michael

Michael,
As I said right before your final picture update, your build is truly exceptional. The finished model looks absolutely perfect. And the reflection in the paint really tells it's own story of just how good your paint job is.

BTW, nice picture of you in the background taking the pictures.

That's great Joel, since my foray this last 12 months into cars has been driven by your enthusiasm and your excellent explanations, especially for painting. That has been a key factor.
As for the photos, it's amazing how you never notice what you're not looking for. I was just trying to get level with the car. The reflection is sort of embarrassing

Cheers Russ. The DS is one of my top three cars to own when I win the big one. The other two are the Lancia Aurelia and Alfa Romeo Monza 6C. If they are around as kits I would build them as well.

Cheers Jesper. I agree they're getting better but still not quite there for the clear coats. More practice, so i better build some more cars
