There was a lot of great talent on display from all entrants. Also a very friendly group, I don't recall seeing any negative comments through the entire time.

The rush to finish at the end seems to be typical for this type of Group Build, on all forums, and I don't think that this will ever change.

Cheers, D

Thanks, D., for your support and activity from the good beginning. No, no negative comments bar one, which I reprimanded right away. Most of out members are "refugees" from groups where stern and envious comments are rather the norm than the exception.

Yes it is, no doubt here. The completion rate it is still high above average though.

Ready for the next one?

Sounds like it ties in with our Race themed Group Build, maybe my 55 Chevy Pro Sportsman will fit in there as well.

D., The thematic of TCC was conceived to encompass the AM GB thematic, so out fellows can use the same build on both sides. Why not to take the chance to win a prize with the same effort?

Gabriel,
I'm ready to sign up with that theme for sure. Just one question: why 5 months rather then the 6 months we use? That would keep both our GBs and your contests in proper coordination?

We need time to evaluate the result, to decide the prizes recipients and to get done with the shipping of material prizes and diplomas / awards before the next edition starts. Technically, the Contest lasts 6 Months, but the last one is needed for logistic background.

Gabriel,
That makes sense now, as you need time to properly judge.

Update on the fly

Very interesting development in People's Choice vote!
Damian and I are competing neck to neck but... for the third place!

For the first place it's like on horse racing with handicap: Alexandra Pasca (red Ford) had a substantial advantage after first day, but Radu's W-900 nearly caught up!

It would be totally unexpected for Alexandra and Radu to break even but in a sponsorship conference we made the emergency plan to hand out two prizes, just in case!

Probably if would be to vote several times, I'll chose differently each time, so close they are. However, these are glamour pictures. On the 6 mandatory pics for the judges, things might be a dash different...

Gabriel,
The level of work looks both very high, and the end results are outstanding from the few pictures you've posted.

How about doing a Feature article on the contest with pictures of all the winners?

You got it! I'm just waiting for the final results myself. 4 out of 5 referees have sent the results already (I don't have access to the tables yet). Final date is Sunday.

Results Time

All results came in, from the jurors and the popular vote for the public's favorite is closed.

The results for public's favorite were validated, the ones for the sponsor's prizes are still centralizing, analyzing and verifying.

PEOPLE's CHOICE

5th place - 1 vote each
Theo Lazar - GMC pick-up truck

Andrei Sirli - Subaru Sambar

Luci Borcan - Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

Marian Rusu - BMW M3 E30

Catalin Draghie - Hummer H1

4th place - 2 votes
Theo Lazar - Peterbilt 352 Peacemaker + Fruehauf 53' trailer

3rd place - 6 votes each
Damian Rigby - 1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe

Gabriel Szeitz - 1966 Ford F-100 Flareside pick-up

Second place - 14 votes
Radu Radescu - Kenworth W-900

First Place - 16 votes
Alexandra Pasca - 1929 Ford Model A Roadster

Note: 49 valid votes were confirmed (30% from the total number of FB group members)

Stay tuned for the final results!

Final results - first edition

The tables were announced today and, as I was telling you earlier, the results were surprising, if compared with the People's Choice Award. If compared with the judging criteria, they are about right. All support documents for individual scores and criteria are available for download on FB Group page.

We're proud we could deliver as promised. A full blown feature about the contest, contest evolution and conclusions will be sent to AutoModeller overseers soon!

Thank you for following - and stay connected! The Second Edition is gearing up!

Great results and definitely valid according to the criteria for judging. The winning build is really beautifully done.

Congratulations to everybody who entered and especially to the winners!

Very much looking forward to the next episode now.

Yes, but that set of results triggered my attention that unknowingly to me, the criteria were more favorable to the simpler models. Something I'm looking into to remedy for the next set of rules.

The official announce / poster it's in the works. Unofficially, I can leak out that the title contains "Speed..." and the general dates are April 1st - August 31st.

Diplomas for 1st edition
The Secretary of the Jury made available the preview of the diplomas. The spelling error was already corrected.
All participants will received a hard copy of the diploma.

Gabriel,
Now there's a really unique award that anyone would be more then glad to frame and hang on the wall. That's my goal for the next contest.

Thank you, Joel!
To be honest, for myself it's just a formality for finishing the build. The guys that get the prize should be proud indeed.

And, if you decided to be part of the jury, you will get two of these diplomas - one as organizing factor, the other as contender.

We have special places for the organizers. In the case a judge enter the contest, his own model will be evaluated by one of the sponsors as ad hoc judge. The model will be ranked, but will not receive material prizes.
