Very nice work Jim, coming together really well now!

I have seen a method for the white tyre logo that I am going to test out soon. Brush a thin layer of paint onto a smooth surface and carefully press the tyre onto the paint just touching the logo, not the tyre wall. Steady hand required, but the results looked very good.

Thanks, guys. I was going to try a gel pen, but I had to push too hard to get the ink to come out & I was concerned that I would damage the tire. D, your method sounds interesting, but I know I would totally mess that up.

Jim, if you use white acrylic paint, there is no way to mess it up. just keep some IPA at hand

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Gabriel. Once The Plague is over here, I plan to pick up some Tamiya Flat White as I've had decent luck with that in the past. However, it was on 1/12 scale F1 cars & not 1/25 scale cars.

In the midst of finishing up the W900, I managed to squeeze in a little time on the Scamp. I got the body painted (Rust-Oleum Apple Red & Rust-Oleum Navy Blue). The interior is Testors Model Masters Buffable Aluminum Plate. The only thing I've added are the sponsor decals from the Revell 1969 Dodge Charger R/T as there are no sponsor decals in the AMT kit.

Thanks, David. No, I'm not that good. The stars & flames were on the kit decal sheet. For new decals, they were quite fragile, but also quite thick. They were very strange.

That's does look very good. And clearly the white decals were opaque enough to hide the underlying red/blue which is a pretty good outcome too.

Thanks for the kind comments. The decals were strange. They were thick & didn't want to conform to some of the curves, on the other hand some of them just self destructed. Good thing I had extra stars on the decal sheet.

I started this kit back in March, and I put the finial details on it today. It's not perfect, but it's done. I did learn that painting the "Goodyear" on the tires is easier with a toothpick than a 10/0 brush.









Now I need the AMT Ford LN8000 Race Car Hauler to put it on.

That is one cool old time track car. I like them for their simplicity, big tyres and go fast attitude. It looks great!
