Although I probably won't join this Group Build, I think it's going to be fun to watch. I don't even know what I'd build.

Guess what. I don't even have a driving license. I only dream driving cars.

My family in Citroėn.
Front my younger brother in a, for that time fresh restored CX Break, think early eighties, don't know exact the year. Mid my late fathers DS 21, year 1967. Fresh restoration. Back is my fathers XM 6 cilinder turbo.
This photo is special to me, because this my family. The CX is driven by my brother, I'm next to him. In the back is my father, as we are bringing him to his funeral. Mid, my sister is driving the DS 21. Together with her husband she drives my mother, who is sitting in the back with my sisters 3 daughters. The XM is driven by my brothers wife, think she owned the car already, don't know anymore. Together with her son and my other brother, my sisters son and her parents.
This photo was taken October 6th 2010. What I remember the most was the silence when we got out of the car, opening the back door and servants came to help us.
Later my friends told me they never saw such a close family as we were, and in fact still are.
Those cars were on our drive, in the garage at our home.
Looking forward to this campaign, it has some deep driving me home feelings.
And yes, my model did arrive. It's a beauty.

Wife and I decided to burn a couple vacation days and since Rhode Island does not require testing for New Hampshire residents, we went to Newport, RI Monday and Tuesday this week.
Newport was the home of the America's Cup races before it went below the equator, and the land of mansions. But, it also has a small auto museum, The Newport Car Museum.
About 75-80 cars on display, all owned by one husband and wife.
Here is a small selection of some Dream Rides.
They have a sense of humor as well, this was a gift to him for Father's Day this year. (I could actually afford this one!)

What an amazing collection, absolutely stunning vehicles.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share those photos David, hugely appreciated mate. I could spend days in there just wandering around dreaming.

David, Amazing collection! Thanks for sharing!
Needless to say that the Benz stays head and shoulder above all others; it has to be a mistake that the collection includes any Chevy. I think you have mistaken some other visitor's car for a display car
Seriously now, the quality of preservation is amazing - at least the exteriors.

What an amazing collection, that "little" museum has.
The Chevy is the little red "car" with the yellow roof right?
thanks for sharing James.

Hey guys,
David, wow, that's a beautiful collection! I can imagine spending a fair amount of time there!
And D, just for you! Coincidentally, while driving to one of this area's remaining hobby shops for supplies, I saw this!
How about that?? funny coincidence to get the road sign in the first pic. Auto Plaza is big collection of auto dealers! This guy was moving, not at all afraid to set the pace for traffic!
nice colors too -
Cheers
Nick

A 57/150 Nomad is a thing of beauty, you are privileged to be sharing the roads with such a noble beast! No doubt on his way to the dealers to buy more of the same for the rest of his family!
Love the colour combination as well, classic!

Given the way this thread is developing maybe we need to rename the build to "Dreams and Delusions are free". That way everybody's feeling about Chevs are catered for!

Agreed. I've been delusional every time I associated the concept of "car" with "Chevy".

All right, how much is this free dream going to cost me? I've got a used Ferrari Testarossa kit, in screaming yellow with no decals. I'm hoping I can use Tamiya white primer to knock down the yellow before trying Italian Red for a final coat. Or I could use Vallejo German Red Brown primer, but I'm not sold on acrylic primers yet.
The bad part is that there are no decals, the kit only had 3 decals to begin with, a dancing pony hood decal, a Ferrari nameplate on the rear panel and a license plate. I can fake the plate, the dancing pony might be available online, so it's just the Ferrari name plate I have to source. Any suggestions?
