This time our guest is Ray Farrugia from Malta.
About me
I am Ray Farrugia, born and residing in Malta since the 13th of May 1963. After secondary school , I attended Catering school where I graduated as a Chef. I spent 7yrs, from 1979 till 1986 working in local restaurants and abroad, after which I cooled off from the kitchen heat and decided to hang my knives and chopping board as a profession. I joined the Malta Police Corps in July 1986, where I am still serving my 25 yrs minimum (expires next year God Willing.......not me but my service) after which I can retire for 2/3rds of my wage in pension. I’m 99% sure that I’ll stop catching thieves and terrorists at Malta International Airport where I’ve been posted ever since 1988, but as I said I can’t predict what will happen in July 2011.Ray and his eldest nephew William at work during annual expo in Malta - History in Scale
I am the eldest of 3 sons, and I’m an uncle to three nephews and a niece, all of them adorable and all of them so fond of Uncle Ray. I was married in 1993 and got seperated in 1995 without any battle damage on any front, and I’ve been enjoying life as a new born bachelor ever since.
My two brothers are also scale modellers, as is my Father, as was my Grandfather who built a replica of his fishing boat many years ago. So you can say that the whole family tree has been producing modellers for quite some time. Also two nephews who are brothers William and Jeremy are also very keen and promising modellers, something which I do find so refreshing these days since most of us are getting older all over the world and our hobby is reaching the new generation less and less.
I am also a member of the Society for Scale Modellers (SSM) which is IPMS Malta, together with my two brothers since 1986, and before I go any further I would like to say that I owe whatever I know in scale modelling , to everyone at our club who instigated me week in week out every Wednesday, to improve and keep improving.

Thanks Engin for making this possible.
Thanks to you guys as you're making me blush
A special thanks to Louis my bruv, as he's one of the old timers of SSM. He was and still is an inspiration to us all as an accomplished modeller in his own right with two IPMS BoS feathers on his cap, and also for being young at heart at the tender age of 61
