Hi all,
This is the official thread for the Air-Cooled! Campaign. The original proposal thread can be found Air-Cooled Campaign Proposal
For rules, please see the bold hyperlink above. The purpose of this thread is to post your proposed build (not mandatory), your completed build, and any campaign questions you may have.
Please do not post your WIP/Blogs in this thread Please start a blog/WIP thread titled "Air-cooled! campaign - callsign" (where callsign is obviously your callsign - e.g. my blog title will read "Air-cooled! Campaign - Tarok" )
Remember, you can join at anytime during the campaign, but if entering a piece you started previously, not more than 25% of it should have been done previously.
Have fun!!
Rudi

Ok. Let's get starting.
I've found a VW Käfer from 1951/52 and the same kit with a sunroof.
Both kits are from Revell (Germany) and the scale is 1/16th.
My intention is the build one of them like it would haved looked at the dealers showroom.
And the other one after 50 years on the road.
For more info, I start my topic asap.

Folks,
I'm really under the pump at work and personally, so if anyone has time to design a ribbon it would be much appreciated.
And no, I have no idea what I'm building for the campaign I won't be starting anything until the dust settles in September/October either

How's everybody going on their entries?
I still have no idea what I'll be building. I've got a Tamiya 1/24 scale VW Beetle on the bench, but that's for another campaign. I'm thinking I may end up going the military way with a Tamiya Kubel or Schwimmwagen - nice easy, rainy day builds

I haven't started on mine yet. I have two other campaigns I am working on and I need to finish them up and then I will get started on this one. I am hoping to be well into it by the end of this month.

HARV, as I said in your build thread - your entry's looking great.
How's everyone else doing?
I'm still undecided as to as subject.
I've got the VW on the bench, but since it's for another GB (albeit one I missed the deadline for) it'd be unfair of me to enter it here. Then I'm also really kean to do either a Kubel- or Schwimmwagen, but that's military and I reckon in the spirit of AutoModeler I should try to keep it civvie.
But then.... I saw the oldish Tammy 1/24 Citroen 2CV in a LHS during my luchbreak today I was thinking in maybe a yellow finish? Like in the James Bond movie, I think it was "For your eyes only"... I realise that it's probably the wrong version, but still...
So what do you guys reckon? Should I do the 2CV?

Well I finished up today. The final pictures are in my build blog. I am not happy with the end result but this was a stepping stone for me and I did learn some things.
I did enjoy the campaign and I hope that my next civilian vehicle will turn out a lot better.
Thank you for the campaign Tarok. I did enjoy it.
HARV
PS. I was going to add my pictures to the gallery but I didn't see one set up yet.

I just thought I would check and see how everyone did and if the campaign is officially over or if there is going to be an extension.

Nice work Gents! I unfortunately did not get very far on what would have been my first auto model. I'll go find Rudi and see what's up with a ribbon......................

Sorry, HARV. My bad. Too much RL stuff going on over the past few months.
So, the completed entrants are:
Hermon (VonCuda)
Randy (HARV)
Well done lads Let me see if I can get a ribbon organised - if someone else wants to design one, though, I'd be eternally grateful.

No problem Rudi.
I was just checking as I thought maybe I missed something.
Thank you.
HARV
Hermon (VonCuda) designed one last year. You might check with him.

Just thought I would bump this again. I had kind of forgotten about the ribbon but I thought I would just drop a reminder.

Another bump. A ribbon is a minor thing but then again we did complete the campaign.
Just curious.
