Well, I've been working on this for a little while now; so I figured I'd post some WIP pics. I have the frame & suspension done & tank assembled. My plan is to plum the brake lines. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, that's where I am so far.

Just an FYI to you guys....

Round 2 will be re-releasing this kit in late 2010, or early 2011.

It isn't listed on their website as of yet, but they apparently sent info to my supplier, and they posted it on their "coming soon" section

Also the Kenworth K123 cabover! Can't wait!!

These Round2 reissues have been all the buzz on several of the other forums. Apparently there "might" be some issue with the Tooling of the Kenworth K123. I sincerely hope not as I'd like a couple. Maybe they'll have the torsion bar suspension (making them a K125)? Seriuosly doubt it, but one can alyawy hope. Anyway, Eric of P&P Vintage Kits & Resin Works offers the Kenworth Tandem Torsion Bar suspension.

I would assume that since Round 2 has sent info out to suppliers and distributors that the kit is coming.....that any issues there might be with the molds have been worked out....otherwise why bother sending the info out.

True, that is a good point. I really hope that everything is all squared away with the K123. I'd like to get a couple.

Hows the parts fit on that old kit ?. Just that I recall a few people saying it was a bit of a dog in regards to things aligning.

So far the fit on the suspension & frame has been ok. There's been some flash, mold lines, & ejector pin marks; but nothing that can't be taken care of of hidden. The tank is another story. At least on mine the curves of the two halves weren't the same, so that made it a little challenging to line up. Also the plastic on the tanks is quite thick (probably so it doesn't bend when it's displayed) which made it even more of a challenge to line up. Hopefully some of these issues will be addressed in the new issue of the kit.

It looks alright, and there aren't that many parts. I'm please with the way it looks so far.

Nice...I can see loosing the tabs on the bottom from what I've seen on my kit...yours looks nice...good job!
Now, what livery are you going to do her in?...kit decals, plain or custom?! "JB fuel", "Jim's liquid cartage", "J Bongiovanni trucking...gas, we got it" ...
What can you do in MS Word or Office?{that doesn't require printed white colors?}

right now the plan for the logo is "Amaco", but with the way things are going at work I might just switch that to "Sam Adams Brewery"

LOL...Sam Adams would be cool, you would then need a guy at the back of the trailer taking a drink from the hose leading to the tank!

I'd just have to figure out some sort of refrigeration system to keep the beer cold. World's biggest keg!

That would be different{sam adams version}...you could make it a loose dio by making some kind of chiller for the piping to run thru ,externally. Then, you could paint up a tiny sign stating "worlds largest beer bong".......
I want to do one in the Sinclair livery someday.

Here are the latest in progress pics for my 1975 Fruehauf Tank Trailer. As you can see I managed to get some paint on the tank & frame, and I plumbed the brake lines. First time doing that. It was interesting. I decided to go without the spare tire carrier as most fuel tankers don't have one.

Looks real nice so far...I'll have to pull one of mine out and build it. I do wish AMT would make an oval tanker and I'm still waiting for the old IMC stand alone Milk tanker to come out....

Charles, I picked this up last year (or the year before) at a local model car & truck show in Fulton, NY. Rumor has it that Round2 is supposed to be reissuing this kit very soon.

Thank you James. Will be looking out for this one as I have some ideas that I want to incoporate into my new found love for the 1/24 scale models

So, I managed to get all the decals on the tank, the brake lines finished, and the discharge pipes on. It's not much, but it's something. I'm hoping to have some time in the next couple of weeks to finish this up.

It looks great! Hey, the "wide turns" and the "stops at crossings" decals....where those part of the kit decals or added?

It'd be nice if those decals were the old "standard" oil decals.

The "Wide Right Turn", Stop at RR Crossings, "Courtsey to All", & "No Smoking" signs were on the kit decal sheet. As were the "Flamable" placards.

I never looked at the decals sheet that timed I cracked mine open to check the alignment...spose I should have!
