Inspired by Peter's (Noddy927) fantastic build in the People Mover GB, I thought I'd have a go at a scrapper. Revell's Citroen 2CV reduced to rust ( as all 2CVs should be!).

Excellent detailing. What is your flat tire technique?

For the flat tyres I put a sheet of aluminium foil (have to keep SWMBO happy) on a baking tray, and then heated it on the cooker. LIGHTLY pressing the tyres on the hot sheet made them look not just flat but completely deflated.

Thank you all for your comments. This was a fun build, bringing together auto modelling with the weathering techniques learnt over years of doing armour.......

Hey Dave love it. I think we shoud start a scrap yard campaign buddy lol. Like what you have done to the soft top, what was the technic to make it look worn and sagged? And the tyres look good with the flatties. Mine is going into the East of Scotland show at the begining of August, yours would be a worthy competitor.
Glad I could inspire you to build this fine dio.
Cheers Pete

I cut out the hard plastic 'soft-top' leaving just the frame and replaced it with tissue paper soaked in PVA glue. A couple of tears applied whilst wet and the edges curled downwards did the trick!

Nice idea, was it messy to do?

Not too messy - glue the tissue to the frame with superglue and apply slightly thinned pva with a brush. Add the tears and leave to dry overnight.
