This is going to be a quick kitmash-up build for October. Trying to finish by Halloween 2013.
I'm going to use these two kits.
The M113 is an old crusty build and the Vanpire is a 'new' re-release by AMT.
So far the lower hull is cut down and the Vanpire cab will be the upper hull and looks like this
I hope you don't mind that Mr. Mohinga has decided to join us for this build . . .

I like the way you're thinking! Is this going to end up as a half-track hearse?

Too late for a group-build, but how about a little un-official Halloween fun here? (or Samhain if you follow the old calendar)
I may have to have a look on fleabay later.

I had to look up Samhain, http://wicca.com/celtic/akasha/samhainlore.htm
Yes! An "un-official" October 31st theme build. That would be cool.
This vehicle will be a full tracked, uh, tractor hearse sort of thing.

The current stance and status of the hearse
I cut off another wheel section from the lower hull to shorten it. Chopped some rear door frame off then flipped it around. I set the upper hull cab on top and it fits better this way.

Progress continues because I still need to get paint on this little dude.
I decided to make it a grave digger as well. A hearse/digger vehicle. The digger will be a cable operated shovel mounted in front of a similar design to this one:
http://www.hcea.net/Default.aspx?pageId=1493429&id=10109172&dh=184&cppr=3
The parts were cut from the chassis of the Vanpire.
The shovel was built from the front seat of the Vanpire kit. Parts and bits were modified and added for the hinges etc
dry fit assembly of the shovel system. The pulley for shovel articulation was made from one of the wheels of the casket trailer
I'm stoked the way this worked out.
This part was chucked into my drill driver and turned with a small round file to get that round channel for the cable (following pictures)

The tracks are too long now, so I cut 19 links out.
Then used the stapler method

Thank you and thanks for checkin in.
A quick and dirty dash board - front seat controls area. Some of it is from the M113 kit and some is scratch built.
