Hi,
This is the first time I've been on the Auto Modeller site as I usually build 1/35th scale military models & figures.
I don't usually build armour as I have a soft spot for cars (military jeeps, landrovers, etc) & trucks of various nations.
However, today whilst browsing the web I happened across the American Industrial Truck Models 1/25th scale full resin kit of the Mack R712LST driven by the 'Rubber Duck' in the 1978 film Convoy.
I saw this film as a kid & fell in love with that truck & always wanted to make a model of it!
Well, now I can!
However, it wont be complete without a trailer being hauled behind it so I need a little help, please.
I understand that the tanker used in the film was a 1960 Trailmobile tanker trailer but that's as far as my knowledge takes me.
Any kits of this trailer anywhere?
If not, are there any that's close & what would I need to do to convert it?
How long is the real one & how long does it need to be in 1/25th scale?
Etc, etc, etc...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Joe.

Hi Joe

The nearest that I can find is a Fruehauf trailer by AMT. Could give you a base for what you want?

Hope this helps.

Revell - Kit 07554 might be a good start.

The AMT Fruehauf tank trailer will give you a good place to start suspension wise, but you'll need to do a lot of scratch building on the tank itself. This link might help: Convoy Rubber Duck Mack.

Good luck with your project.
