Ladies and Gentlemen, Happy New year to all!
After seeing the change for campaigns and kicking this idea around in my head for quite some time, I'd like to propose a 6 month campaign for Deathmobiles. Basically, something you'd drive to work in and never worry about the traffic around you!
Some of the vehicles that come to mind are anything from the Mad Max series, Deathrace 2000, James Bond series, Animal Houses' armored Lincoln, any of the Batmobiles, games like Carmageddon and Car Wars, etc. Scratch builds/ Kit-bashes would be highly encouraged. But... No military vehicles. Parts from a vehicle would be fine though. An example would be to mount a turret from an armored car to the top of a box van. Scale would be from 1/6 to 1/35.
Let me define this:
Any car, truck, or motorcycle
1/6 to 1/35 scale
Modified for combat in any way you want; guns, armor, rams, spikes, tracks, rocket launchers; use your IMAGINATION (and clean out your spares boxes along the way).
My entry would be an AMT '58 Chevy converted to "Vlad the Impala"!

Any takers?

Cool James, So we only need one more per the new guidelines using my new math:
Me (a guy) = 1
You (a Managing Editor) = 3
Wait a minute... If we're both subscribers does that add another point each? If so, I'll get started on a ribbon!

Seriously, did I post this in the wrong place? Or am I just being impatient?

I'd love to join in on this one, but my bench time is just so scarce lately I just can't guarantee that I could get a start even.

To get some ideas rolling, check this '66 ElCamino/Marder kitbash "HELL CAMINO"

Happy New Year guys !

Cheers, D

Count me in! I've got a mangled Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT) Pontiac Firebird kit that could use a strip-down and rebuild. This would be just the place for it.

Great!
So we're one away from making it happen.
Ko, I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Sean, Maybe Kitt needs a Minigun upgrade to make sure the Hoff gets home OK.
D, Come on! Join us. It'll be OK. Just like the rest of us, I know you have free-time between 2 and 5 AM.
Seriously, Hell Camino is wicked. Thanks for the heads-up.

Looks like we won't need your new math after all, Charlie, although I liked it

Get this one all set up and I'm sure we will have more than enough to have a good time. I'll post something on our FB page too.

Brent, Great use of a Nascar anything and a great nasty, rusty finish! Anything like that would be perfect for this campaign although the gas mileage...

I'll have to check back though, there's no enlist "button" ... !!! lol

Don't panic it must be a whole site issue as no others have buttons at the moment either.

Brent, I just went through the Postapocolyptic link, and that is some AWESOME brush-painted effect! All the metals look so real.
For this build, note that Kitmaker times us out or something on the various sites (Armorama vs. Kitmaker vs. AutoModeler etc.), so check that you are logged in on the sign-in page, then you should see the ENLIST button. I can see it, so maybe it's fixed, or maybe you got logged out.
thanks!

Well I just enlisted and brought us up to 8 enlistees. Now I will have to decide on what to build. I have couple of thrift store kits I have picked up as well as some garage sale car parts. I am sure some kind of "don't cut me off again" car can be born of all of that plastic!!

Thanks,
Randy

Fantastic! Having a look at the Race Contestants, this is shaping up to be one of the (if not "The") most artistic and creative campaigns in a while.

Robert, The Citroen you're finishing for the Rusty/Scrap campaign looks real, period. Amazing work. Y'all need to take a look at it if you haven't already.
Hakan, Your What If entry was a great piece.
Randy, Whatever you build, consider warpaint and a mohawk!

I'm currently working on a ribbon (first time) and ran across some stuff on the net/web that hopefully will help tweak and peak 'till we get started.

This is what kicked it off for me.

One of my favorites.

Another of my favorites. I'll build this in 1/1 scale one day.

Sorry they're so small.

As for a ribbon how about something along these lines?

and a banner

Wow they bring back memories, I used to play Car Wars about 25 years ago Also reminds me of a game on the ZX Spectrum I used to play were you had to build your car and you had an overlay for the keyboard, Deathrace or Battlecars something like that.

I may join in but I'll not sign up just now as I won't know until nearer the start time if I'll have the time to take part. Shame as my Mustang from last year would of worked as would the unfinished cop car.

Think I've got a Challenger or Charger in the stash that would fit the bill.

It doesn't have to be a deathmobile to be effective. Just have the right equipment and even the simplest car could qualify.

Paul, Good to have you with us! Any ideas?

Luciano, Jump in when you're ready. 5 months should be plenty of time for everybody.

Russ, Great video! Had to watch it twice. Will you be joining us?
Thanks,

Charlie,

Thinking of using this.....

Leaving it open, removing the wings, adding a large fuel drum to the back end and adding some guns...... maybe.
