Hey, that's a beauty, Pawel. It really shows the abuse it has taken.
Thanks for posting!

all,
Sorry, late to the party as usual , just signed up.
My proposed entry will be revealed very soon - the courier has just arrived with my little box .

Some nice WIP's and finished entries being shown thus far, just hope I don't let the side down as this is my first foray into scale two wheels.

Cheers Pete,
Well almost time for me to make a start , not really into cafe racers, cruisers or thumpers sooooo

Unfortunately there's no "donor kit" for me to start with, so it has to be a ground-up scratch build.
Next installment I'll reveal what is in my

Till then, hope the glue dries in all the right places

I'm taking it easy on this one, doing a fairly straight Out Of Box build, but I'm in awe of the museum work you guys are doing! To be honest, this is my first motorcycle build, but I have 2 others in the stash.
For progress, here I've spray-painted the gold panels with black primer and black gloss. There is a metallic gray sprue that I've painted over with silver to brighten it up.
The kit has several different sprue colors-- gold, black, gray, and clear-- and it's really going together well. I sneak in a few minutes on this each day.

Many little parts, most are chrome-plated by windysean, on Flickr
As you can see, I'm not painting too much detail yet. Not sure what will be left when I'm done. After the build and touchups and decals, my plan is to hit the gloss black parts with Pledge Future for even more shine. It's going together well-- some of the steps look so tricky, but the fit is fantastic, so it's not fighting me at all.
Cheers!

Started my contribution. The lady is more "hairspray in your hair" but at least she'll be decorative

Yes I will do all of them and arrange them in a group. Maybe do the second cycle and use a guy with an A on the helmet in the background if time allows

,
as to be expected, some nice WIP's being shown here.
Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll be able to even start before the finishing date, however things may change.
Anywho, here's the direction I was travelling in - caricature styled MX rider as per:

Not a difficult build, but I tend to bog myself down when it comes time for the figure .

Turtle, that's a cool little sketch. That will be neat to see in 3-D and color! I hope you make it into the group build.

Here's my update, gluing on a lot more pieces. Lots more chrome...
Front fork is nice, lower fairing is really weird. by windysean, on Flickr
I thought all was well with the engineering and fit, but little things started to go wrong. Here the front fairing doesn't match into the backside pieces. On my part, I didn't foresee painting the insides of the shells.

Parts adjusted by windysean, on Flickr
Then the angle of the engine started to bite me. Here I've circled where I had to file off the locator pin and mount the shifter pedals off-center to clear the floorboard and foot fairing.

Fit alignments by windysean, on Flickr
The instructions had me mount the exhaust pipes off the engine before the mounting brackets on the back of the bike. When I reached that step, they were a long distance apart, so instead of forcing them together, I just glued the parts on straight and ignored this connection.

Anyway, still going!

Hey Sean looking good, but a few trails and tribulations? What would modelling be without them buddy.

all,
Sean - looking good so far, just a pity you have encountered fit problems - as Pete said - all part of modelling .

It appears I'm back in the running as another little box magically appeared on the doorstep this morning , not quite what I had originally planned however as the saying goes "adapt or die":

might have to make a couple of 'minor' adjustments (just can't help myself ).

Hey Roger i look forward to seeing that take shape. I used to own a Honda 70, very similar. Did I just own up to owning a Honda bogseat?

I have ridden bigger but the Honda was bomb proof lol.

Funny you should ask, Pete, since I have just this evening--after three months trying to relocate the house and family from Japan to the East Coast of the US--gotten to the point that I can actually sit down at the workbench and hope to accomplish something. This will be, admittedly, a very weak-sauce build, but I got this little 1/35th bike as an extra in a Hummel kit I bought a while ago and it seems like just the thing for a re-starter effort. Here's my opening shot:

With luck I will be able to avoid unpacking many more boxes and get this done by the deadline. If I feel really ambitious I mean even have a go at painting the rider.

Cool, Mark. Welcome back to the US and to your build! I vaguely remember making the Tamiya US MP once, and really had a blast with it. I hope you do too.
