Ah, you beat me to it. I was gonna suggest you try out the tissue paper and white glue method on that bench seat.....to add some texture to it.
Are you going the military route like with the Donk Caddy?

It's still on the bench . Waiting for decals from Jim JBOT . Thanks for remembering.
It's almost finished but I started looking at the Chevelle box and couldn't resist starting it.

the interior is painted
I used aerosol cans of what I already have around. I think it will look good against the body color I want

body color paint firmly established
I will someday install the engine, as you can see my intentions

Thanks for looking in
I started rushing the glass idea that I had and failed

I didn't want to break out the airbrush and comressor so I sable brushed it on - - - FAIL terribly

My boss had some of this in his office and suggested I try it

work pretty good. The violated pieces were dipped in Future and are now drying

So are you gonna retry the clear green with the airbrush? I'm asking because I want to tint the windows in my ferrari with some Tamiya clear smoke. I tried this one time with Tamiya clear yellow on an aircraft canopy, it worked but left the glass a bit hazy. Been trying to find a better way of doing it ever since.

Do you still have the canopy in it's currently described condition? Try dipping in Future. It might solve the haze.
Also, what did you thin the Tamiya stuff with?
As far as the wagon windows are concerned, I just want to finish and enter the "model car contest" here in kitmaker and at a local show. If I try it with an airbrush, then I might succeed or fail again. No time for fail again. I'm going with green quarter vents and clear all around.

KSO - I like the interior color scheme, and those dash decals sure look good! It's a shame about the windows, but at least you got them cleaned up. Have you thought about replacing them with colored acetate (the kind used in report covers or in light filters), since they're basically just straight pieces of plastic? Or, see the idea below...

Hermon - Believe it or not, I had a friend who tinted his plastic windows with powdered fabric dye. He boiled the stuff up in water per the directions on the package, and when the mixture had cooled enough so the clear plastic didn't warp, he dipped the pieces in for a minute or two, pulled them out and rinsed them off. He used an old pot for boiling the fabric dye, and a miniature strainer to hold the pieces in the dye mix. He did some nice dark tints, as well as red and blue. The color was consistent throughout the piece, and I remember thinking that it looked pretty good. I've never tried it myself but it's something to think about.
Maybe a small box of fabric dye, some scrap clear sprues and a bit of luck...?

Very interesting idea. Tests on some extra CD jewel cases. Might try it this weekend

The dash looks great. How did you paint the instruments? they look very sharp.

KSO, I thinned the Tamiya smoke with Tamiya thinner. I ended up throwing the canopy away since I had a spare for the kit.
Yoni, I'll have to try that technique. I've never heard of anyone doing that but if you think about it, it really does make sense. Thanks for the tip.

I am searching through all my back issues of Car Modeler and Scale Auto Enthusiast to see if I can find an article on the fabric dye tinting process. I was mulling it over last night when the thought popped into my head that I might have seen an article on it somewhere.
I let you know what I find, if anything.

This is def a plan for this weekend. Thanks for the link and thanks to the others for input on this.
Hwa-Rang, the instrument displays are OOB kit supplied decals.

I was pleasantly surprised to see them when I opened the box. These would have been useful for the Cadillac because I had to fake it by cutting and splicing with spares from aircraft decals from the SPB

Great link D. I totally understand the tinting method now. I'll have to give it a try soon.

KSO, I forgot to ask earlier. How did you get that texture on the top of your dash? I know the kit didn't come like that. It seriously looks like a real vinyl surface.

Thanks for noticing. However, it was just by accident. The Model Master aerosol gray that I used was just old. I think I bought it in the late eighties. Aerosol can paint gets weird with age
