When I should be finishing up on the HO reefer for the SL&L build, I started a new project

I, too, always love a good station wagon build! Can't wait to see what you're gonna do!

Convert it into a hearse filled with zombie............... ...............I'm just sayin'.
Nah, but it'd look pretty sweet with a rack and surfboards on top. I'll watch.

you and your zombies, man awesome progress on your Elco Truck Zombie Mutilator
progress continues on the wagon and thanks for looking in guys. I want this to be a quick build with no AM products. It will be DOOB (Detailed Out Of Box)
Suspension modification continues. I held a lighter under the middle of the front part until I can bend the ends up
It worked but now looks like this
This would look better if it was rolling on spokes and Ds
The rears look pretty good but are touching the chassis part #46, they can get lower
I'll have to raise the center of the wheel post so the wheels will be vertical

Wagons rule, plain and simple. This is a great kit from Revell - one of my more recent favorites - and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Thanks for looking in Yoni. I agree, station wagons rule. And they are coming back. Cadillac, Dodge, Hyudai, and even BMW have models of modern shape and size wagons
It's not pretty but is done. I'll now need to match the rear axle
I'm going to bed now but will continue with rear and cutting up part #46 tomorrow

chassis part # 46 that needs modification
After some cuts and scrapes . . .
The front wheels wells of the main body part needed cut outs so the front will be lower. The two arch pieces are material from the rear which will be glued over the holes up front cleaner tubbed look
Then a quick slap together for reference and it looks low with wheels tucked

That stance is sweeeeeet. I love the low, growler/stalker look. I pulled it off with my 70 GTO Pro Street, but, haven't tried your method yet. I'm watching!

Right on, Cuhail, I'm pleased with the lowness
glued the wheel arch parts from the rear onto the front to cover the holes left over from cutting out for tire clearance. There is a gap
I'm using foil with super glue on the right, I don't know why, I'm just going to try it and . . .
. . . putty for the left

Dude!
If you have a soul, there will be a blower sticking outta the hood before the end of this build. That curb killer stance is perfect.
Oh, and shave the door handles while you're at it.

Thanks again for looking in fellas.
The front wheel tubs finished and primed
next is the engine. I looked online with backup ref from the '71 Chevelle in the back yard for plug positions. This is what I came up with

The plug positions are right on for a big block Chevy. Are you going to use the kit induction (intake & carb) or go for something a little more...wild?

I still need to make a distributor but here are the wires I want to use. Made a clip thing for the wires
The air cleaner intakes didn't look good. This is the white plastic part
Found these two things in a disposable lighter and squeezed them between little needle nose pliers to the desired shape
After primer and paint

Pretty smart. I wouldn't have thought of doing the dual snorkle like that. Looks good.

Thanks. I didn't like the solid pieces provided so wanted something different.
Important Note:
see the position of the little tab on part#74 that fits into part#73? I didn't
glued together wrong by flipping part#74 upsidedown
OOPS!
I had to cut the setting boss from the bottom of part#73 and then glue the whole air cleaner subassembly into the correct position with intake wells facing forward, not like the above photo

I searched online for the correct firing order for this engine and made a sketch
tore through an old tape player for shapes to secure the alternator to the block, see scratch material junk thread
While trying to install the wires and distributor, it kept breaking and I got tired of at pieces of plastic
I threw.... I placed it back into the box for future attention
This wagon is going to be a curbside

I hate to see ya give up on the engine KSO, but at the same time it'll give you a chance to really jump into the interior and paint. Still watching you.

You can always fasten the hood in place with a little Micro-Mask or even some white glue, and then pop it off later when you feel like dealing with the engine bits. I think that you can slide the engine in with the chassis and interior in place, but it's a pretty tight fit, especially at the distributor end.

while glueing, putty, sanding, I sanded off the seam that was suppose to be there. I thought it was flash
I used thin wire to replace this seam glued in place with super glue
after primer

I'm going with a green and gray interior. Some paint I already have around
