I've located an Audi R8 at my LHS, not used to that happening! Usually have to buy online some place!
This is the kit I am looking to enter with:
Just have to wait to be able to make the trip into Stockholm...

No, I just bumped it again...
Didn't want to steal it from anybody and it was someone else that had the idea from the beginning. So if it has been approved or whatever is an act of a higher power.

So calling all interested!! A roll-call please!
I am ready to submit the following campaign idea:

Rules:
A model of any German made automobile, but no what-ifs. It has to be considered an automobile though. Any scale, any type, any era, any physical media.
Contest Element:
Make a model, take a pic, load up the pic to the appropriate place and voilá you win a very nifty campaign ribbon! As long as a pic of a completed model is loaded up by the end of the campaign you get a ribbon - meaning get'er done!!!

I still like this idea. Count me in!
Nothing in my stash (except a half-started Herbie the Love Bug). I'm thinking of that Tamiya Karmann Ghia or a VW camper. Thinking, thinking...

I am in with my VW Golf mk 3 I can remind you all that German trucks are probably acceptable too, and there are plenty of them, Mercedes, MAN, Krupp, Hanomag to name a few

Welcome Snowhand!!
I have to give trucks some thought... I had only thought to allow automobiles.
But I guess bottom line is I don't want to be in the way of somebody's fun... decisions, decisions!

Officially signed up with the Mercedes C111 rotary-engined concept car. Its far enough down my stash that it should make January......if not I also have a Tamiya Beetle.

There was an Air-Cooled campaign about two years ago or so (before I got into the campaigns here), and that's basically a subset of German cars. That may have taken some of the kits that would have been built here.
It's worth going back to look at that campaign and how popular it was.
For me, I was in Las Vegas last week and saw this at the Imperial Palace Collections...
Although, I admit the first thought when I was scrolling through all the Armorama and Aeroscale messages and saw this one was a giant Mercedes WWII 6-wheel command car. There is certainly no shortage of cars-- is there a Kharmann Ghia kit out there-- or is that too Italian?
don't mind my rambling!
thanks,
Sean.
Edit: I just took my own advice and checked the Auto Modeler campaigns and gallery-- Air Cooled ran in late 2009, 9 enlisted, and only Harv posted final photos in the gallery here: http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/25212
The Karman-Ghia Typ 14 was basically a "Beetle with an attitude" build "next door from my home" in Osnabrück and of a very mixed chassis design (German based on Italian Job based on a Job done for Chrysler...) using Kafer parts and base
Like all german cars it is more a "transportation device" than a work of art. Sadly the italian "bella machinas" are basically non-existing in scale, I'd kill for a Fiat Regata, Croma or Alfa Romeo 164 in 1/24.
