Thanks KSO. Sunday mornings are the best for modeling, so here's a little update on the building of the DS19.
I still had some work to do on the rightside.
After some cutting and a 'paint modeling' I can start to bring it in to the real state, comparing to the other ones.
Tab-sheet cut to the shapes of the door. Because the 3D curved shapes are more difficult to make, it is easy to show them in this way. The color added to the door is very thick and just a leftover. Structure came by surprise after my first attempt, I'm pleased with it.

A finished door to match for color. This the rightside of the interior. Still missing 2 small parts, handles to open the window. The kit gives some, but not to my satisfaction, so scratchbuild is needed.

After some thinking I decided a diorama could be fun.
Never did that, so I did some research and found some very nice examples. Scratchbuild is the way to do in this scale.
So I made a start some weeks ago with baskets, drums and other metal crap.

Next time I will show some more scenery material and the build of the base for the diorama.
Have a nice modeling Sunday.

Last update for today I think.
Worked on the back of the car. Suspension and breaks.
Still waiting for some comments from my brother, I might need to adjust some things.
Photos show the results

Point is when it comes to such small parts, where to stop. When the paintjob is done, one can hardly see a thing of it.
I still have to drill some holes, make some tubes and then this part is ready. Later this week I hope to get some major progress so I can concentrate myself on the dashbord.
That will be all for now. Hope you enjoyed it.

Robert superb work buddy,I know what you mean about not knowing when to stop. Someone I met at a show said 'I never build what can't be seen' I can understand that, but it's a case of I know it's there, and it's also the challenge that makes it addictive.

Just the words I already used a thousand times to explain my eager to such details. "I know it's there".
One of the reasons I wanted to build in a bigger scale. I was used 1/87, my trainhobby, and a lot in detailing is possible.
This project gave me new energy in terms of hobby. You might not believe this, I never did such a thing before in my life.
Big fun, so to speak.
Thank you for the compliments by the way. Regarding the campaign, a guy offered me to build even larger.
I'm getting a puzzle in 1/8 scale. Task to build a Traction Avant C15 out of it. He will be first on my list after the finish of the diorama with the Sleeping Beauty.
He wants me to build a 'Barnfinding' out of it, so I've got 2 options.
First start the research I think, lots of magazines to read, so...

Did some painting. Basic color for rust is on it now.
Today it will be the last time I have to remove the upper part of the bodywork from the chasis. It is a hell to get it done without any damage to the rest.
This means the inside will get its final parts in it.
After that is done, by the end of this week, I hope to get 90% of the building finished.

All for now, more updates later on this day.

the car details are looking great. What did your brother say?
I see light under one of the walls in the diorama but I assume these are preliminary shots and that will be addressed later

Thanks for your reaction.
My brother had some few comments on the thickness of the tubes. It is just to thick, but I can cover it up by attaching a protectionshield, which goes with the real model.
Walls are still not glued to te base, except for the brickwall with the plaster. There is another paintjob to be done to make it even better. Grasses, leaves and some small things will be attached. I also have to work on the doors. When you open them it will leave some traces on the grond. Backside and windows need to be done also.

Many thanks Jesper. It is simply a lot of fun to work in this scale. One can get to work on details, you can't imagine sometimes.
To go with the diorama I made lots of tools already to get working on the car. Yesterday evening I started to make a jack to lift the car while the man figure is working on the back of the car. It's not finished yet. I do need to put some extra detail on it and clean the thing.

Pictures are not the best I made, sorry for that.
Thanks for watching,

Paintjob to get the interior of the car finished. Some small details to add, like a rearviewmirror and handles, comes later.
Front of the car also nearly done. Last details come when she's on her wheels.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Beautifull day for a marriage.
After I finished the interior the 2 parts had to come together.
Blood sweat & tears, the thing everybody will suffer building a Heller kit. But at the end happiness.
Some pictures.
Tabsheet covered with some paper you find in shoeboxes.

Paintjob done and some green weathering.

After some washes ready for the 'marriage'.

There is no way back now. I leave it to rest for some days.
Front is still 'open' because I still have some work on the stearing and shafts before I can get to attach the wheels.

Pictures from my Sleeping Beauty.

So far so good. She is allmost done.
I left out some things, like the drivers chair and the steeringwheel. In the dio setting somebody is working on it.
Also the tires are still to clean. Rest of the detail is doing some painting and weathering. Camera's make it visible what you don't see while your working on it.
Hope you all like it.

Hello everybody.
The lady is all dressed up now.
Some pictures taken today. There will come better, if it only stopped raining.

Citroënforum in the Netherlands dedicated a small review and article on this project. It will be online tonight.
Tonight I'll drink some champagne. Friday I will continue working on the racer and the diorama.
That's it for now. Hope you all enjoy the pictures.
Regards,
Robert Jan

I'm real happy with the result so far. Leave the car for a rest the coming days and get to work on my diorama.

Thanks Jesper.
I leave the car to rest for a while. I'm planning a garage behind the doors. But the racer gets all the attention now.
Also the rusty/crap campaign starts within a week, so got some work to do.
