This picture, of my then 9 year old son, and a beautiful Mopar, is from a bi-annual US carshow in Denmark.
It's a good thing kids know, from an early age, what is good for them.

Jesper, it's good to see you as a father, raising your son to be a decent and productive member of society. Making proper choices and avoiding evil in all its manifestations. Your son will no doubt grow up to be a noted scientist or possibly win a Noble prize.

Poor Damians children however will be forever chained in the hopeless world of public transportation.....you know, busses and the like. Can you imagine living as a child in the darkness of evil, having to wait in monsoon rains at the bus stop to hitch a ride into civilization because your dad...yet again....couldn't coax any life out of his oil leaking, bald tired, smoky exhaust spewing, earth polluting chevy?

Those poor, poor children.

Merry Christmas and peace to you as well Richard!

As for war....I have decided to take it easy on poor Damian in the new year. It's not totally his fault that he was not blessed with full mental faculties at birth.

Chester, welcome aboard and thanks for joining us. Which side of the trenches do you live on, Chev (the side of goodness and light and sub-9 quarters) or Hemi (the side of oil leaks and bent conrods and tow trucks vouchers with every new registration paper)?
Please don't forget to enlist on the Campaign page HERE and please post some pics of the kits you will be building.

Excellent choice, it will be a magnificent piece of work no doubt!

It will be sitting on the side of the road broken down, somewhere, again . . . .

We will be using this thread to post progress throughout the year, but please feel free to create your own Build Log thread as well if you wish.

My sentiments exactly, I hope we all have a great Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.

Ditto on the Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
I don't remember if this had to be classic iron, but here are the kits I have planned for this build.
I want to build the Chevy SS in a clean, gloss finish, nice and subtle, despite the 2-in-1 Stock Car Racer boxing.
The Dodge Charger will be turned into a City of Madison, Wisconsin police car. They use both Chargers and Crown Victorias. It'll have to lose that flashy green pre-paint. A friend of mine owns Circus City Decals in Baraboo, and it should be simple enough for him to make MPD decals if I get prototype photos. I'm pretty sure that some of the cars wear police livery without a rooftop light bar, but if not, I may have to scratchbuild that.
Chevy vs Hemi kits-- I intend to make a clean-looking SS and a Madison Police Department Charger. by windysean, on Flickr
Looking forward to starting on the first!

Sean, you said you didn't want to worry about a light bar for the top of the Charger, but if you change your mind later on let me know. Bob (old dragon) showed me how to make one a few years ago for under a buck, really easy.

These are the two kits I'm going to attempt for this group build. The Camaro was sent to me by a friend and the Cuda is one from my stash.

The Cuda will be painted Go Mango Orange and will have the black hemi billboards on the quarter panels....even though that was an option in 1971. The Camaro will be painted Nassau Blue Metallic with a black stripe down the center.

Very nice choices Hermon, a pair of true classic muscle cars!

I'm really looking forward to watching your progress on the Camaro, I've picked that kit up for a look quite a few times at the LHS but just haven't handed over the coin yet.

As for the 'Cuda, it will just stall at the lights and probably never start again, so you might want another kit in reserve 😝

Hi, guys.

For nothing in heaven I will miss this party.
Just ordered today, I will receive them by the middle of January -
From Chevy side:

From Hemi side:

I followed the forum since I have been around... i HAVE to choose sides. HM! That is a problem. I grew up in Romania with Renault 16, Dacia 1100, Dacia 1300, Dacia 1310 (all versions), Wartburg, Trabant, Lada, Skoda 1100 MB, Polski Fiat and a few other engineering and design monsters... Who the @#!% is Hemi?
I found out fast: they motorize baby chariots! Just look at that "superbird" LOL! Can you believe the both cars are from the same year, namely '70? Now I know which side I HAVE to be...

Warm Regards

P.S. @Hermon: Sorry, mate, I've seen to late we have the same model for Chev... but it will be fun (on my box reads "molded in white," though.) I did not choose the color yer... I need to document myself first on official colors

:) Oh, boy! It looks like we are carrying our own inside campaign. For some unknown reason I avoided AMT kits so far, so it is a first time for me too! i hope is not as bad as a Minicraft kit

Nothing to worry about Gabriel! Just slap on any old color you want to. After all, it's just a chevy. Come to think of it, you may want to go with dark brown or black to help mask some of the oil and smoke that will surround the poor beast when she's running.

These AMT kits are not so bad Richard. The biggest complaint I've ever had with them is the extremely soft plastic. Sometimes it's almost like scraping and sanding a bar of soap.

Agreed, Chevs look amazingly amazing in any colour at all!

There is no colour that you can find or create, however, to mask the ugliness and inherent badness that all Hemi powered, scrap-metal merchant fodder are created with!

Yup. The best paint gun for a Hemi is a flame thrower.

Gabriel, I assume you are young and easily misled. Do not go over to the darks side. "Yeah though I ride through the valley in the shadows of chevy, I shall fear no evil, for I rideth in a Hemi which has no equal."

:D Nice one!

Sir, I do not doubt your wisdom but the attempt to convert me to vicious idolatry has miserably failed. May Chevy sign shine forever! So be it, Amen
