Breaker 1-9..

Any thoughts on the dates for this ? I have a Scania that needs to be done, and this seems to be just the excuse I need.

Watch that smokey on your backdoor and catch you on the flip-flop.

I was thinking January through June? That should give everyone plenty of time to get things assembled & some warm weather for us guys who have to paint in the garage. I just have to get off my lazy "fourth point of contact" and fill out the forms.

Those MANs are nice looking tractors. I like the DAF XF95, too.

Here's a quick update on this proposed campaign. I submitted the "paper work" a couple of days ago, so I'm hoping to hear back soon. The proposed new name for the campaign is "Keep on Truckin'". Hope everyone likes it.

Hi Jim. This is a great idea. I'm on a civilian truck kick lately and will look forward to getting in on this one.

Jim!

I've noticed the campaign is alive: Keep on Trucking! (thanks Matt!).
I've enlisted but have to change my entry because my van will not reach the 2.5 ton minimum... No problem, I've got some other ideas allready!

Paul,

I already told you that your van-thing was alright. You can submit that as an entry. If you want to do a rig, too, well that's great. The more the merrier!

It's gonna be 2 builds for this campaign; the 'beuatifull-ugly-van' and I've also found a rebox of the old Revell Chevy '55 2 Ton Stakebed truck in 1:48 on local auction site. Actually 2 of them for only 15 euro; 1 is mint and the other partly build. Can't wait to recieve the package next week!

Hi there

If I may be so bold, can I offer up an old Ford Transit into the pile of want to builds. Only problem being it has been started a long while ago and the scunner factor set in! It needs lots of correcting to get the flat bed looking better and hinges working. No interior built and I fancy stripping the paint back.

Would this be allowed in with it being half rebuild and repaint? Having no idea what you then do within the campaign, is it just a few pics on a common posting and hopefully finish it before June? This would give me a reason to try to finish the thing.

I don't think that will meet the 2-1/2 ton requirement, but it is interesting; so what the heck! Pleasure to have you on board.

Yes, rebuilds & pre-starts are acceptable for this campaign. I want to get as many trucks as possible. Being from the UK, I don't know if you've ever heard of Kit from Services. He has a lot of heavy commercial truck stuff. British, European, American & Australian. Check him out. It's a great site.

Depending upon timeframe I may be willing to throw my name up. I have a payhauler, as well. I also have an Iveco Turbostar II. Would a pickup be ok, if it had a wrecker boom in it, and had repo or tow company logo on the side?

Michael,

In order to get more modelers interested in the campaign, I've decided to drop the 2-1/2 ton requirement. Any comercial vehicle will be accepted regardless of size. Ok, a Ford Ranger tow truck might be pushing it just a little. Your tow truck will be fine. Most of them are pretty beafy anyway. Of course the International Payhauler & the Iveco Turbostar II are perfect!

Ok, I'm in too. I have a couple of ideas so it will take me a couple days to settle on one, but I'm leaning towards a 1947 Ford Cab Over US Forest Service brush engine like this.

Very nice subject for a truck Aaron!
I can't wait to see that one in model!
What kit are you going to use for it? What scale it's gonna be?

Last week my auction treasure has arrived! The old Revell Chevy Stake Truck; one "build" and one unbuilded. Needless to say I'm gonna build the kit. The builded truck gives a good idea why the seller stopped modelling :-)...
Than again, always trying to learn from the mistakes of others, I took a good look at the truck looking for the traps. Interesting thing came up, like the part numbers are actually on the parts itself (also showing on the outside, including brandname and copyright sign...) and no windows in the vehicle!
Auch! I gonna have to make windows for this vehicle. Doors won't be a problem, but how I'm gonna manage the front windscreen? Well, I have until january to figure that out... Any ideas?

It's 1/25 and I'll be using a resin Cab from Mill City Replicas, the cab interior is from a Revell '40 Ford pickup. Not sure what I'm going to do for the frame and running gear yet. Mill City lists the cab as a '41 but its basically the same as a '47.

Hi there

Can I add this wee christmas project into the pot? My brother owns this Nissan Cabstar.

As I can't get either this or the older cabstar cab, I bought him this kit for his birthday to scratch build the skips and loading system.

It was on ebay as 1/24 but turned out to be 1/35 (seller was supposed to return some cash as compensation).
As it is quite a smallI kit am hoping that I might get it together for his xmas present, probably without any signwriting as my printer and scanner are gubbed.
Would it count for the campaign?

Nige,

Yeah, that counts. The scale range in 1/87 - 1/12, so that works. And the 2-1/2 ton minimum has been removed. The truck just has to obviously be comercial, and not just some guy's pick-up. So, come on, join the party!
