Hi guy's,
I was just delving into my 'reject' box and came across some parts I made a couple of years ago (project go shelved

),
so my question is - would anybody object if I resurrected this project ?, (the extent of the build can be seen at the link).
http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n270/casspir/Scale/ZiS-11/The decision lays in your hands

.
Edit. If the link does not go through - in your browser bar delete the garbage after /ZiS-11/
Don't know where that extra numbers etc came from !.

Matt you are too quick, I was just checking the link and editing the post.
The link should work now, found the problem - had a space where there shouldn't have been one.

Well, I guess now is as good a time as any to start...

Of course, after I spent all that time working on the fictional county sheriff's markings, I've been toying with the idea of turning this into a fire chief's rig. Decisions, decisions. Maybe I'll just have to do
both. Hmmm.
I don't think I'll actually start a build log, ala Erikssson and his monster wrecker, but I'd like to post a few in-progress shots as things...progress. Are we going to start a build thread for folks to post their pics? Or to each his own?
Good luck on your builds, btw.

Diecast 1/24 scale by Matchbox. It's been disassembled and stripped. Started primer on it last night. it's gonna be repainted into a utility vehicle with a Hitch along with a 21' tag along trailer.

I'd say each to their own

.
By my observation we have the following participating:
Matt - Utility vehicle + trailer
old-dragon - Mack MR ! or ?
Yoni_Lev - Tahoe
Erikssson - Peterbilt Wrecker
jimb - ALF Pumper
casper - ZiS-11 PMZ-1 or ?
TheMedic - ?
Sabot - Fire Jeep.
Just had a quick comparison of my spare parts against the plans and info I have, and remembered why I shelved the project

. Looks like I'll be rebuilding most of the parts I already have, I made a few booboo's.
Time to attack some sheet plastic.
May your knives stay sharp and the glue sticks in the right places
Roger.

The only thing hindering me on doing the Mack MR is I'm lacking the windshield wipers{can't get a good pic of them to scratch} and a set of mirrors. I have a set of mack mirrors from the B model...I can probably make those work.....Call me in for the Mack MR firetruck...now I just have to decide if I want a tanker or pumper{got pics of both}.

The utility vehicle is one of several. I'm still n need of decals for the projects. But they'll be forthcoming (as soon as the decal paper gets here)

FWIW, the Tahoe is a go, but I'm probably going to work on Revell's Caprice, too. Must use up those sheriff's markings I made, you know.
So I'll commit to one done, and one...mostly done.

..hey, they're always sharp enough when they cut me, but luckily the super glue I get on my fingers seals up the cut!

My LHS has gone out of business so unless Wal-Fart....er uh....Wal-Mart starts selling firetrucks and police cars I'm out of this one.

You can check Great Model Web Store
http://www.greatmodels.com/ . They have the AMT Aero Chief & the Trumpeter American-LaFrance Eagle in stock. Your other option is evil-Bay.
Good luck,
Jim

I must be blind, because I don't see it. The "Now Forming" section is empty. Maybe you can see it because your the Campaign Leader? I don't know. Anyway, I've already signed up. Looks like we've got four participants. Wonder if we can get some of the Model Shipwright guys interested in this Group Build with some USCG stuff.

I'm still trying to find something guys. Don't wanna leave ya short handed for a campaign but with 1 LHS in town and a maxed out credit card and nothing appropriate in the stash this is a tuff one for me.
