Building for a friend - her Uncle Russell was co-pilot on the Briefing Time when it went down.
Also ordered a set of 1/48 decals, metal landing gear and the Eduard Instrument Panel
Nice kit and great back-story, but I think you might have dropped it in the wrong “Postman” forum Michael 🤔🙄😎

After all these years on Armorama this is my first time here. I thought it was for ANY/ALL models. I guess you are telling me it's just cars???
Opps, sorry - I will pick up my toys and go home.
(Just kidding - but no, I really didn't know.)
p.s. I saw the Spitfire on the previous page and thought I was in the right place.

All good mate, there’s so many threads on various pages on the Kitmaker Network it’s easy to get lost. There is a “Postman” thread on Aeroscale that has been going for 11 years now.

Hi Michael
It's undoubtedly my bad that you posted wingy things here! Sorry for that - I did so as part of an apology for not managing to pick up a car kit when I visited a new (to me) model shop a week or so ago. Hence the Spitfire which really belonged on Aeoscale.
Rest assured, you'll always be welcome on Auto Modeller.
All the best
Rowan

No problem Rowan.
I consider it my fault but thank you.

Well the Corvette Fairy visited again last night and left me a present!
A kit that I haven't seen before, but quite a few nice options and a great looking body.
Cheers, D

Something else that was added to the stash a while back, my plan is to do some customizing and turn this into a cool-car-carrier tray with side tool boxes and a few other extras.
It came with this as a bonus, so it might even get an engine transplant!
Cheers, D

D., I don't know about the 'Vette, but the Blitz is for sure a very odd fish for this scale. I never knew it was released (if isn't the same molds used by Italeri that is).

D,
That's some nice haul from the model Fairy. Love the Vette, but the Opel truck conversion really just jumped to #1 on my "D Build List"

Hi again
Wow! Some great hauls! You'll be relieved to learn I do now have to something car-shaped heading to the Island to make up for my guitars and Spit. More when it arrives, but I think Joel will get a kick out of it...

Hi Rowan.
Those two new "stringy-thingies" look great. The baritone with such a long neck looks like a 6-string bass! I bet it sounds amazing. How are you going forming the chords with such wide frets?
I will look around for one in my local stores to see if I can have a play, it's something I've never picked up at all.
Cheers, D

I've got to admit I'm totally in love with the baritone (even more so than the 12-string - which was a known quantity to me, so the surprise factor is definitely at play). It does sound amazing - so deep and rich, and in that mid-space between a guitar and a bass. It's gorgeous - and the Danelectro is priced so affordably, I'd recommend any guitarist to get one (or certainly try one).
As regards chords? No problem at all. I can't boast the widest stretch with my fingers (I look at some classical guitar players and my jaw drops..), but the baritone just felt quite natural when I picked it up for the first time. I was instantly at home and just got on with playing it.
I think you'll have a blast if you have a chance to try one - and I honestly don't think you'd be disappointed if you bought one "blind" like I did.
Danelectro make a selling point of all their guitars being set-up in the US. I bought mine via Richards Guitars in the UK, who also include a free set-up as part of the deal. Whether they had to do much of anything... who knows? - but the baritone arrived in tune and ready to go with an action that I won't change. (The 12-string was also within a gnat's "whatever" of being in tune - which I thought was outrageously good after being bumped around in the back of several vans!)
All the best

So Damian doesn't feel alone in his collecting of old models, I found something from the Tamiya back catalogue. Released in 1995 judging by the contents date.
Nothing like a bit of 1960's grace, space, pace to enliven the roads.
I owned a 3.4 version for about 10 years. Went on my honeymoon in it in late autumn though I don't think my wife was too impressed by the heater in it.
cheers
Michael

Very nice addition Michael, a classic car in every sense of the word. Might be that we need a "Best of British" Group Build soon??

Ha! That's a fine idea! Especially now when the Brits don't have a brand anymore (safe for Morgan)!

I would do it just to see if we can get the other 2 admins to join in with a build!

Michael,
I've never seen that Jag Sedan kit before, but being Tamiya I'm sure it's still an excellent kit. My Porsche 956 was very late 1990's, and is still the equal of most race car kits from other manufactures.
I'm sure that your wife has quite a few memories of her honeymoon traveling around in your Jaguar Sedan.
Come on Rowan,
We're best of friends, so at least give me a hint of what you've bought with 4 wheels.
D,
I'm all for a Best of the British Brands campaign sooner then later. Are we talking only street, or does British built race cars qualify as well? I'll be in either way, or just might do one build after the other.

Nice one Michael!
That Jag looks seriously tasty!
Hi Joel
Well, I got an email saying it's in the post, so it will hopefully be delivered in the morning. If so, all will be revealed tomorrow evening.
I'd definitely be up for joining a Best of British build. I wish somebody would do a mainstream new-tool of a Morris Traveller, but I'm sure I could find something to join in with. (Of course, it if included racers, I've already got Ebbro's Lotus 49B begging to be built...)

Rowan,
I'm looking forward to tomorrow night's post for sure.
Sure looks like D really hit a Home Run with the British theme Campaign/Group Build. Even I would vote to have it placed right after the Ford Blue Circle.
