I may be wrong but that hardtop on the Corvette does not look right. I am guessing it's a picture of the completed model. Maybe that's why you only see them as soft tops?
Still I am glad you found your missing link.

Update: Ha, I just read Joel's comment in the corvette thread. He seems in agreement.

cheers

Joel and yourself are absolutely right, it looks nothing like the hard top profile. In fact it looks like a custom "Bubble Top" that was available as an after-market item. I will be building this one as a soft top, but I might play around with the hard top and see if I can bash it into shape as an option.

Not the postman of even the big brown truck, my sweat instead.

My dad passed away two years ago this coming August, my step mom, who wouldn't let us take our mom's and dad's stuff after he passed, passed near the end of May (not C-19). Our step sisters contacted us and let us get furniture and many totes of items that were from our as far back as our childhood. No one else wanted these two curio cabinets so I brought them into my home office. They are a tight fit but it'll work. The Tamiya Challenger I that my dad built and is all that remains of his models will be going top shelf center in the one on the right.

I haven't plugged in the lights at the top as they are halogen and I'm worried about heat. Going to see if I can find LED replacements.

I guess I'm going to need to finish more models.

David,
Those are magnificent display cabinets for sure. And having your Dad's model front and center will always keep him in your thoughts.

Thanks Joel. It was the first one I put in.

Just had a thought on the Big Rigs GB. There were three models that he built and displayed. The Challenger I, the Revell 1/96 Constitution, and the Kenworth W-925 from the TV show Movin' On. I know the AMT kit is available and Modeltrukin.com has updated reprints of the original decals.

I think I'm going to build the Big Rigs I have already before the GB and then the KW as the GB build.

They are really beautiful cabinets David, and even better that they have such significance! I'm sure you will have a lot of fun and a touch of pride as you refill them!

Wow, those cabinets look amazing David. The heat, from the halogen, will be a problem, but a replacement should be easy to find. So many LED options out there.

My entry for the Dream campaign arrived today after a lag of two and half months. I had ordered it from HobbyEasy in HK but they gave up waiting for a flight to NZ so sent it by ship.

This would be a lot of fun to take for a spin.

A couple of months and I can start, assuming I finish that Porsche.

cheers

Very nice kit Michael, excellent choice. I saw one built up on one of the forums a couple of days back and it really looked good!

Michael,
Should be one great build for sure.

This pandemic is just killing international shipping. I'm being forced to use UPS or Fed Ex by Spot Models of Spain which $28 (Fed Ex) and $44 (UPS) for 1 pound but it's 4-7 days.

My last Spot order via their PO to USA PO took 7 weeks, now I understand it's even worse.

Excellent buy Michael. An almost infinitely amount of figures and dio stuff, to be found in this scale.

When I was on vacation, in the southern part, of Denmark, where I visited the wonderful town of Svenborg. A shop, with mainly interior/exterior paint, has a small corner, with artist stuff. In that corner there is an even smaller corner, with model kits. There was a fair amount of AMT end a few Revell kits. I could have found them cheaper on-line, but I opted to support a small shop that actually stocks model kits.
Two kits came home, with me.

Jasper,
Nice find, especially that Duster. Saw a few of them back in the days, and they sure held their own on our "local drag tracks". Looking forward to your build of it.

Nice finds Jesper. I like the Starliner. Anything with two engines has got to be a bargain. As for supporting the local stores, I have done a bit of that since we re-opened in June. Though it does mean I have bought stuff I will probably never build.

cheers

Interesting that they have taken 11 parts out of the street machine kit. Obviously to make it more lightweight!

Probably all of the brake components, who needs to slow down?

I didn't pick that up, I will check and report back.

Well it seems like I've got ALL of the Chevy kits for sale here, so I had to go and buy this to satisfy my styrene cravings!

Oh, hang on, I found this as well

to go with this one (already in the stash) and give me an excuse for another Chevy dual build!

Now, if only I can find a '57 Stepside to go with the '57 Cameo, then I can do a Monster Quad Build!

Great buy's D. Love the box art, on the untouchables kit. The two trucks will look awesome bone stock or light custom.

Thanks Jesper. I always loved the movie, Sean Connery is one of my favourites. The box art is great too, I wish it was in a bit better condition.

You've got the '31 Rolls on your current build list, how is it going?

Cheers, D
