I'm making great strides, but haven't applied any paint yet. The Revell kit is really fitting well!
Tonight I'll begin the body painting. The plan is to paint gloss white for the lighter decals, then mask around those shapes to follow with gray primer and the navy blue final color, then unmask and decal it up.

I first read that like you were going to mask the decals then paint primer and blue and thought that that sounds challenging.
I re-read it and I think I know what you're going to do. It does make sense for the decals.

OK, I am not really computer savvy......I created a Fotki account as suggested, but I can't drag & drop the pictures from my desktop as it asks me to.....no matter what I try. What am I doing wrong???

You want to find the "BB Code" for your picture, and copy that to your post. I don't know Fotki, but try right clicking or look for a menu.

I'm making decent strides, a few minutes a day on my state trooper...
The Revell kit is really nice. The copyright is only 2013, so it's fairly new, and I like the fit and detail, if I didn't say so already.

another thing I did was to mask the chrome hubcap centers with some sticky craft half-beads that were left from another project. The size was a pretty good fit!

Here I've used gloss black, but it doesn't cover the chrome without a primer, so after this photo, I used the black primer then gloss again.

Richard, that interior looks really good. Lots of touches of color, and the extra bits are great! That copper isn't going anywhere soon with those up on the dashboard.
(Now the prototype MUST have cupholders, or does it date that long ago? Looks like they mounted the computer over them.)

Cutting and re-sizing the parts I need to make the front and rear of a '78 Dodge Monaco into a '74 Dodge Monaco is WAY ABOVE my skill level, so I'm out on this one.
As you can see in the picture, the front of the kit body is chewed up with intent to fit the new bumper and head lights in. Not. The parts I was trying to customize to fit, Didn't.
Sorry Harv, I screwed up the kit.
Anyhoo, all of your projects are really shaping up so I'll stick around and check it all out.

Roscoe's car was wrecked in almost every episode. That's true. Hazzard must have had a big police budget for that.

I wet-sanded the automotive paint with some 600-grit and then 2000-grit sandpaper. I stayed away from edges where it would be easy to rub through the final color coats, but when it was all finished, I either rubbed through the paint on the roof, or painted it too thin there. I will return with another coat and sanding, maybe tonight.
As for the interior, the blue and black contrast is pretty stark. I'm not sure about that. Next, I'll mix Pledge Future Floor Polish and this food coloring to paint the scratchbuilt police lights in the rear window.

Here is my entry Lindberg's Dodge Charger. It will be in Niagara Regional Police Service (Niagara Region Ontario Canada) colours as used by them in the 2006-209 era.
Hope to have it finished by campaign's end.

Good I didn't throw it away. It's just back in the box.
The interior of the Mustang doesn't look bad. After you apply some wash and dry brush, I think it will tie it together.

So you know, I just finished up one of the Lindberg Dodge Charger kits. They do build out nice, but you should know that the instructions have you put the vertical slot on the engine top to the rear, but this should be facing forward. The intake manifold needs that slot.

Still going! It's starting to show it's nice paint scheme...

I realized after the front license plate decal was in the water that there wasn't a place to mount it-- even the kit instructions include a decal, but the kit has no included mount. I left the decal to dry still on its backing paper, and luckily had no problem applying it later.
Another issue was cracking of the first decal, so I stopped and overcoated the whole decal sheet with Model Masters clear lacquer. No problems after that.
