Thanks Gabriel. I used the Ultra-Bright Chrome on this one.
A couple of hours (and a couple of glasses of Shiraz) later, and we are done! Front and rear glass surrounds, quarter windows and gutters are all chromed. I am really happy with the way the bottom frame on the rear glass came up after the repair works.
I have also put a light PLW in the door and boot lines, and will give it another quick go over tomorrow.
Chrome exhaust tips added, I even drilled them out!
My second completion for 2020, aiming for one completion per month to try to whittle down the WIP pile.
I will get some better photos of this one in the next day or two.
Cheers, D

D,
Wow
what a huge difference the bright chrome makes. I was really impressed how the finished frame for the rear window turned out.
I'd say you earned yourself another glass of cheer

You've really nailed this one. Great save, on that rear window, super paint job and sharp chrome work.
I better add Shiraz, to my "tips'n'tricks" notebook. Looks like it works wonders

Hey D, the save on the rear window came out great. Love the contrast of the semi/flat black scoop to the red and chrome.

Thanks for the feedback guys, always very much appreciated.
A few final shots taken outside thismorning in overcast natural light.
Lessons from this one:
- Check the fit of the chrome and clear parts BEFORE you get started (let alone finished) with the body paint. Those tail lights were terrible. Damn, that reminds me, I need to put a drop of clear red in the stop lights
- If you haven't noticed, the battery was relocated to the boot on this one (i.e. the spare parts box), because it sort of hangs in mid-air if you follow the instructions
- If you plan on a multi-layer paint finish, plus clear, deepen those panel lines. I couldn't get the PLW to hold around the boot lid, or the fuel filler cap.
So, that gives me a trio of 55's on the shelf now. Next up will either be a stock Bel Air or a Nomad. Time will tell
Cheers, D

Wooo-Hooo!
The colour looks fantastic in natural light, and the chrome does the trick. Yes, beautiful!
Rescribing panel lines has become the norm for me, since I use 2K. That thing is just too thick and too slippery.

Congratulations on a lovely trio of builds D!
No doubt they'll be a great addition to the display case!
Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to what comes next!

The '55 family expands with the addition of Charles Carpenter's Pro Sportsman.
Next up here will be a stock Nomad, colour scheme to be decided
Cheers, D

D,
That's some growing family you've got there. Now a Nomad would really be a welcomed addition for sure.

Hi Damian,
I spaced out and missed the gasser build altogether - great build! And glad to see the funny car wrapped up - it was a fun build to watch and the results are great!
Cheers

Nick, with the complexity of the builds you are working on right now, I'm surprised that you manage any time on here at all
Thanks for checking in, I really appreciate the feedback.
