Thanks Damian - the 49 Ford is a daily driver and when I came across it the truck was parked outside the local "Tractors Supply" store.

Egads!! Both the Pinto and Maverick in the same post. Two fords that I much rather forget about. But by 1970 I had my 302 Mustang notchback and was a very happy camper.

A double no less. Sure sounds like a lot of us came from Ford Families, not Chevrolets. Yet, most custom builders of both models and the real thing are way more devoted to the Bow Tie then the Blue Oval. I never did figure that one out.

Interesting dilemma, the same car was built by Ford here is Australia, under licence from Mazda. From Wiki - "The KA Laser (Australian model code), built under license from Mazda, was introduced in March 1981, replacing the rear-wheel-drive Escort in Australia."

Strictly according to the rules (5.Must have the Ford Name and or badge somewhere on the build. For Race cars it's usually on the engine), and in the interest of diversity, I would say yes as it was indeed manufactured in the local Ford factories and badged as Ford, but I will defer to the Group Build Leader for a final decision.

When I wrote the rules for the "Blue Oval - Ford Motor Company Vehicles" GB, the intent was to focus on the Ford family of vehicles, hence, it had to be badged as a Ford. That was also meant to imply that it was designed, & built by Ford, not just licensed to sell as a rebrand. Clearly Ford had nothing to do with the design of the 323 other then selling it as a rebrand. I believe that the full line of engines available during it's run were all Mazda engines as well.

So I'm going to deny the inclusion of non-designed but retail Ford Badged vehicles as they don't meet the spirit of the GB.

Damian & I thought that a clarification of the GB rules would help to clarify what should be allowed for this GB. So I amended Rule #4, and coupled with rule #5 should answer just about all questions and concerns.

4.Prototype or mass produced has to be, or have been designed and built by Ford

5.Must have the Ford Name and or badge somewhere on the build. For Race cars as an example, it's usually on the engine.

Since you're the keeper of the build list, it looks like I'm going to be changing my build or even my 1st ever duel build. I've already bought (but not received as yet) a Revell 1/24 scale Rousch 1985 Mustang bodied GTO over 2.5 liter car. The basic car with some upgrades was campaigned through 1990!. The exact year between 1985-87 will depend on whose sponsor decals I decide to go with. All will be from Indycal.

The real surprise for this build is that a super builder and friend of mine who had input into the now rare Rousch Mustang Transkit that sold for $120 which includes a correct shell, was offered to me for the sum of $25 with shipping, as he has a few just gathering dust! Naturally I jumped all over it. So build #1 will be with the transkit if I manage not to screw it up.

The duel part if I go that route is a 2nd Revell Rousch Mustang kit using all kit parts, but the same detailing as build #1. I've yet to locate a USA based for sale kit as the oriental offerings on ebay are just to expensive with shipping to even consider.

The Transkit just arrived today. OMG!! I'm in modeling heaven. The shell is just perfect. What's more my friend sent me what looks like a full Revell kit minus the box, plus more goodies. I have a full Revell Rousch Mustang kit coming as well.

When that kit arrives, I'll post both kits for the build. My focus will naturally be on the transkit as I've never worked with Resin before.

Love the Rousch Motorcraft IMSA GTO Mustang. It's one of 3 Rusch sponsor schemes I'm really looking at. I've also have a few other non Rousch schemes, one for the All Sports car driven by Tommy Kendall in the 1994 IMSA series. That's how long the Mustangs/Camaros raced as front line cars in the IMSA GTO series. Today if someone actually wanted to run one, it would be classed in GT3 or GT4 depending on which engine was under the hood.

I'd also like to just remind everyone that the only Fords that are allowed must be badged as Ford. So A Mercury Capri, Mercury Nascar bodied car, or even a Lincoln Continental wouldn't meet that criteria.

So a Zakspeed Ford Capri would be fine then. Got the Tamiya one in the stash and planned to do that one.

A street Capri wouldn't meet the rules of the GB as I've stated previously. However, the Zackspeed Ford/Capri does. The nose grill of the car has the all important Ford Blue Badge.





I believe that the body shell was cast by Fox just like the Mustangs and Camaros. They all ran the same exact tube frame, and of course, the Ford V8 engine.

I'm really looking forward to your build.
