Hi there
WOW! I love the colour of that first 1948 Deluxe Convertible!

Maybe Tacoma Cream? - whatever, it just works perfectly.
All the best

D,
To bad I'm not into Rally Racing, or I'd have to build one of those RS1600s.
Really starting to get "itchy" waiting for the GB to start. I've cleared my bench, and will solely concentrate on my 1st build till it crosses the finish line.

Hi again
A bit Off Topic - but looking at a shot like that makes me wonder if there's mileage in a Heavy Weathering campaign along the line for any of us with the courage to enter? I've had some Rustall sat on the shelf for a couple of years, but I've never tried it. It could be uncharted territory for many of us and a great chance to share results and advice.
All the best

Hi Dennis
I don't need to go to Armorama - I saw plenty enough on Aeroscale too over the years of editing it

- but the whole point of my suggestion is angling it at weathering car models accurately. So - quite specifically, not "over-weathering", but trying replicate convincingly what you might find in photos of the un-loved classics like Damian's posted in this thread.

Rowan, unsurprisingly, Damien started a thread about that a while back.
Given your mad internet skillz, you could probably find the thread faster than I could.

Oh, that is nothing..... LOL
I should probably explain my disdain for GM. My first car was a 1971 Chevy Nova 2Dr with a 307 that I bought from my neighbor. I knew the car history and it had a light driver's side accident in the left front corner.
That damn car tried to kill me three times before I killed it! First, the pins on the steering isolator (rag joint) ripped out and caused me to have no steering on a twisty road. Managed to stop it before hitting anything. Second, I was going down a long hill that had a right turn at the bottom, as I made the urn at about 30 MPH, the driver's door flew open, the striker pin for the bear claw lock had pulled out of the inner door frame. Third was a brake line blew out taking an off ramp from an Interstate Highway, thankfully I didn't panic and hit the e-brake near the bottom of the ramp.
I finally killed it on a snowy road on the way to school. I was playing and fishtailing back and forth and it got away from me. Wrapped the right side around a telephone pole.
I swore I would never own another and haven't. I even hate when I get them as rentals.
I love the smell of Tenax in the morning....It smells like a day off work.

Rowan,
Boy that came out of no where.
I've focused my car build collection as though they're museum displays. Now I've seen some guys build and finish race cars as though they just finished a race. Some look realistic, and some don't. Then again, it's just my opinion.
But I pretty sure that I'd take a pass on the GB.

Hi Mark
I remember the thread - I think it might even have been a comment of mine that inspired it

- but I don't think there's a Campaign in the list, so I'm just wondering if there'd be interest in doing one.

Thanks,
D.Yes very nice and inspirational pictures. For what I know now, I'm going for a two-tone stock-ish one, very similar with the first picture. And yes, that first picture confirms my "vision". Very helpful reference!

That was a "tongue-in-cheek" post, you know... I trust you saw my "laughing emojis"..?

CHEERS!!!
PS- I've been kind of thinking of "doing" a "derelict" Model A; weather-beaten, faded paint in places, missing "body parts", dust & rust, (of course!), weeds growing around the thing, maybe even a few bullet holes- You get the idea...

Cheers Damian

You can tell how often I've checked to see what's on the cards for Campaigns...
Note to self: Must check Group Build Themes!
In all seriousness, it was only through Joel's encouragement that I picked up on the Blue Oval Campaign.
