I have there Hudson Hornet (want to do Doc from Cars), and their ProStar in the stash. I built their LoneStar, and It was a great kit.

Excellent build Gabriel, congratulations on getting completed! It is great to read your very honest appraisal of the kit as well, very good information for anybody considering buying the kit.

A couple of quick comments from me. I think that your "accident" with the rear bumper mounts might be an improvement! I think the bumper looks better slightly further out from the tailgate. Looking at the underside view, the engine looks a little out of alignment. Did you have any problems with the mounting points?

What will be next up on your bench now?

Cheers, D

Very sharp eye and very good comments! I appreciate them and welcome them any time! Yes, I have noticed while I firstly dry-fit the model that the overall look of the truck was rather wide but short. Since I had to re-do the bumper, I added 2mm to the length, just to bring it closer to my taste. (I could have bet - and lost - that nobody's going to notice it)

Yes it is. That was a stupid mistake I did while mating the engine bloc and transmission together. I have trusted blindly the keyed pin, but the female is too large and the transmission is slightly rotated in its longitudinal axle. No, I didn't have really a problem: the frame is flexible enough to take the deviation, but I did had trouble with the transmission's collar vs firewall. Fortunately the exhaust collector matches and from the top of the engine the slant is almost invisible.

I still own my commissioners a Dacia 1100 from the dual build I started a while ago... and I am "waiting" (actively waiting, that is) for the next AutoModeler Campaign, where I'm going to participate with a Lee Ferrari 50 Barchetta (if allowed - also under contract) or with my initially announced NASCAR.

Gabriel,
I know next to nothing about Ferrari's, so I googled the Lee Ferrari 50 Barchetta, and as I thought I can't find any information about it being used on the track.

The next GB is any race car, bike, & truck. So I'd say that your Nascar kit would be a logical decision to make.

Gabriel,
Congratulations on crossing the finish line with an excellent build of a Ford F100. Overall, I love the two tone paint scheme and how you used that color combination for the cab. Well done my friend.

Right now I'm officially adding you to my GB completed list. You more then earned your ribbon.

You're totally right, Joel!
"Barchetta" it's the fancy Italian for "cabrio" so it is a "sporty" but not a "sports" car. OK - I'll go ahead and start working on it hors course, catching up with NASCAR later.
Thank you for intervention!

No, I will never forget how many secrets of the trade we have exchanged, since we were doing both bombers

But I should do much better in assuming responsibilities and leadership, and here I failed miserably lately Duh!

Gabriel,
Not really. You were always very active on both lists. I'm sure that when you want to step up, it won't be a problem.

D,
I gotta thank you for being an excellent statistician for our GB.

Hard to believe those stats, but numbers just don't lie.

Looking forward to our next GB. Still haven't come close to deciding what to build, but I might start a little late as I do want to get my Porsche 935 K3 across the finish 1st.

Body on the Bronco is painted but not glossed. Hitting the road in the morning for the week. Possibility of getting home Thursday evening instead of Friday evening on this trip. Woo Hoo!

Thanks Gabriel, I'm nowhere near your abilities with painting and glossing, don't expect too great of a finish.

David,
Have a safe and productive trip.

As Gabriel said, I'm also looking forward to seeing the body installed on the Bronco, especially with a non-gloss finish.

I lack the skills or patience for a high gloss finish. I'll be happy if it isn't too grainy.

Cheers!

David,
I'd suggest watching a few Vids of Paul from International Scale modeler on how he does gloss finishes. That's who I actually learned my current techniques from. It's really a lot easier then one would think. The only thing I differ with is that he uses 3.5mm AB setup and I use a 5mm one. He air brush's @ 18 psi while I prefer 15 psi as my pressure gauge is much easier to duplicate psi in 5 lb increments.

It was a superb evening in Sint Maarten and, in the last hour before evening, when the light it is still strong but somewhat filtered, I did a few pale attempts to forced perspective photography. Still a ton to learn

Stunning Gabriel. It's amazing what natural light does for a kit. Fourth photo is my favourite with sun coming across it from the back. Very cool!

Cheers
