Hey Brian! Good to see this one out of the mothballs.

Not sure how much scrap stock I'm going to have left, if any.

I know funds are tight, but here's the 1/16th stock I bought (I assume this is for the camper and other bits):

Sheet Stock

I'd like to have a couple more sheets. If you want, as I'll probably buy two or three more anyway, if you cover the cost of your sheets, I'll cover the postage costs of the order. Adding, say, two sheets to an order doesn't raise it that much. Give me a call (373-3163 - if I don't answer right away, leave a message and I'll call back).

DayuM, been this long, eh?

Holler Brudda,

Mike

Yup, its been a while Mike.

Its under gone a few modifies since I dusted it off.

I've got some other stuff I need to get before I get cracking on
the camper end of it.

Need some more "I" beam. I've got some but its
the wrong size and not enough of it.

I'll give ya a shout.

Hey gang,

My apologizes for the lack of updates. I'm still trying to work out some of the framing and placement issues without adding more work to an already crazy build.
Once these are addressed than hopefully I can start throwing this thing together.

Well, I'm out of I-beam and nothing to show for it.
Oh well. Guess I need to restock, hope to have that done in about 3 weeks.

Holy crap! Were has the time gone?!?!

My apologizes for not posting for so long, I've had other builds ongoing and supplies run out for the Pete. But that is going to change! The tax refund is inbound! So a resupply is in the future.
In the meantime, I'll be finishing up the current builds and getting a list ready.

Hey gang,

Build is back on!! Got some sheet stock, large I-beam, small I-beam, 1/8 inch round, and square long stock for the frame of the "camper" shell. I hope to have some sort of lay out soon.

Stay tuned.....See ya in the funnies.............

Hello Darrell,

Thanks, good to be back here.

I've been doing a build/blog of the Bf-110E-2 Tropical over at Aeroscale, one of the reasons I've been away. Promised myself to get going on the Pete after that build. Had some health issues with the lower back also, got those sorted out.

Still working on the lay out, nothing cut as of yet. Don't want to blow it. Stock is pricey these days.

Stay tuned..............See ya in the funnies..........

Hello Darrell,

Thanks, that's the goal anyways. It might be shorter than that one, I did pick up some large I-beam stock in case the frame needs a few more feet added.

Not sure how to get the bends in the roof, might have to heat treat the styrene on a piece of quarter round wood. I've got a lot of logistically thinking still ahead.

Hello Ko,

Thanks for stopping in. I've got a lot of them. That's just a small sample. Just have to narrow them down now to what would fit the chassis of the 359.

I understand you guys have been holding on to some Spitfires from WWII, around 140 from what I've read. Posted the article link over at Areoscale under "Very interesting......." heading.

Anyways, I'll have some free time in the next week or so. Hope to get something going by then.

Hello Everyone,

Still planning the camper phase of the build.

I'll be taking sometime off of my studies in Culinary starting tomorrow to take care of some personal items as well as getting this build back on track.

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

O.K., Here's the idea......the camper is a mock-up made out of a Cat food pouch display. It's mocked up on the frame.

Here's the supplies I picked up the other day with the left-overs from when I stopped awhile back. 3x 1/8th sheet styrene 11x14, Large I-beam, etc.

Now the fun starts!

Hey gang,

Apologizes for lack of updates, lifeinterruptus has managed to invade once again. Not to worry, there is a positive that is coming out of this. Should be back at it next week, moving rooms around and all that stuff.

Take care and we'll see ya in the funnies.................

Hey Gang,

Started tracing out the sides of the shell. I know, what took ya! LOL. Also picked up some spray paint, blue, pin stripe tape and thinner. Frame lay-out for shell to follow.

Hello Roger,

Sometime life happens. Has that happened in your world?

Yes, I've been at this build for a longtime, it's a custom build and a personal build and I have had to take time "engineer" most of the parts from scratch when I can and when I have the stock, other times I lose interest or I have more pressing issues that need attention or I have other reviews that are being done since I'm a contributor at AeroScale and Armorama. It's a balancing act.

More progress.

Cut out second sleeper door, sanded.

Lined sleeper with 1/8th I-beam stock, see below in photo.

Here how it was done.

Final product, tied butcher string the door to hold in place while glue sets. Did not use hot water to bend the I-beam in place, I just wrapped it around by hand. This is to simulate the sleeper door seal.

Yes, it did crack and break in one shot on both doors, however the cracks are are the inside and the I-beam on that side will be removed.

If you noticed in earlier photos of the drive line channel, the end piece was square, not any more.

Started laying out the interior today, this is going to take sometime.
