Side door dry fit after shaving off on side of the I beam.

Other side done today also. Working on the power generator. Using a 1/35th scale Jeep motor/transmission with an old M8 Greyhound radio set for the generator control panel. Photo's pending.

Lookin' good Brian. Been a while, but I dig that. Life is what it is.

Keep up the progress; it's nice to see this come along.

Hey Mike,

Thanks, yep, it is what it is. Just taking it day by day doing what I can on it when I can, some days is more progress than others.

Wrapped I-beam around sleeper entry to "camper" section. Will to the same to the other side leading into the cab area.

I had some doll furniture hinges laying around so I notched out the underside of the bed that came with the kit and installed them.

Found an old storage box from a kit, not sure which, trimmed off hinges and old lid, going to lengthen and put a hinged top on this. This is going to be the back.

Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with these old Tamiya T-34 fuel tanks, was thinking maybe hydraulic fluid tanks or fuel tanks for the generator.

If you DO use these tanks, let me know. Pretty sure I have some that are not banged up. They'll look much better in "pristine" condition than war-weary for this build.

Hey Mike,

Thanks. These were "Tamiya worn" from the kit I think, I've had them sitting around for years, can't remember how I got them. CRS. I've got some 1/32nd P-51 Mustang drop tanks that could be reworked.....Hmmmmm.

Hey everyone,

Here's some progress photo's.

The tubes are not stacks, that is part of the frame work for the "camper." The square stock was "blended" into the sleeper side/cab area so when the side goes on everything is semi-flush and blends in to look seamless, had least that's the plan.

Update: The build has been put on hold due to a death in the family over the weekend.

Donald J. Fitch, Age 66, Father-in-law, passed and went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2015. Don was a Vietnam Vet. and served with the U.S. Army.

Hello everyone.

The waiting game starts so I figured I do some work on the Pete to get the mind off the last post. Here's some progress shots:

Cut out other side wall. taped them in place to get an idea of what is next.

Notice that the side are not blending in well with the sleeper section. So I fixed that. Sanded channels into the sleeper were the sides meet up.

Sorry about the photo quality.

Hello everyone,

My apologizes for the long absence with the build. I hope to get back at it within the next few days after I get the room back in order since we're using to store my late father-in-laws belongs.

A lot of fab. work going into this build. Dry fitted the sleeper box and I'll be dang, it fits like a glove. Had to re-cut some of the wall bracing, too short, hope to get back on track so I can put paint on it soon. Progress photo's forthcoming.

Hello KoSprueOne,

It's been slow going. Non-modeling distractions as of late. Started my culinary schooling this week and found a SNUFU with grades. So it looks like I might be getting this thing done in the next 12 weeks. That's how long the school quarters are. Will see.
