Hi Bob,

Here's a couple of ideas for you. They are meant to look like truck radiator grilles.

See what you think.

Grubby.

Grubby,

Nice job on the ribbons. They look a little like railraod tracks to me. I get what you were trying to do, though.

Bob,

Nice Mack. I like it. Kind of looks like the Peterbilt I picked for my "Keep On Truckin'" ribbon, except I couldn't figure out how to write o the trailer:

Once I found a free one I liked{yeah, I'm cheap} I downloaded it to my file, then shipped it to MS paint and fired up the "elipse" for the "O", then the straight line for the "T" and then the elipse again for the "R"s top and then finished with lines.....basic black was the color for the day. I then resized to roughly 70x50 and viola. Changing the jpeg to a gif distorted the image's colors so back I went and redid it all and saved it as a jpeg. I got lucky with the letters on that trailer.

Hey, can you guys go to the campaign section and see if the ribbon shows other than a "red X"...I've uploaded it twice now and I see nothing but the dreaded red x. Maybe it's just me- so long as you guys can see it is all I'm worried about.

Red X for me too, might be the sizing Bob, it should be 50x20, it's showing as 28x30

Son of a gun, your right! I just went and right clicked it and that's what it said but when I uploaded it it said it was 50x20..just checked the properties on it in my file and it's 50x20 yet when I uploaded it again it's still coming in at 28x30...why is it getting distorted?

I've cleaned off workbench #2 (the one I spray on) in preperation for the truck build. I've decided to go with the Chevy Titan. I'll use the directions and rear springs Jim B sent me and make her a yard bird truck.

Good luck on the build, Hermon, Should be interesting. Lot's of fleets used single axle COE tractors in the 1970s as their main line trucks, too.

Nearly a week to go folks...the ribbon will happen somewhere along the line{I agree James, it has to be a glitch in the new server}....anyway, I'm set with some pics, paints, resin cab and donar kit for my early '60s Mack H-67 coe in Roadway livery and will try my hand at a '50s round front trailer to match. Shy of that, I have plenty of other things to play catchup on as well!

Finally. Got up at 5:30am and started the build. My wife is highly amused at this. I only have the engine block so far but it's time for brekky.

PROTEST! PROTEST! PROTEST!
TOTALLY UNFAIR!

I have another 12 hour wait ahead of me while you're diving into your kit Shane

Hermon, it's killing me knowing that I've upset you. I shall immediately pack up my kit, say three hail marys, light a candle for you and wait......only joking.

This is the first group build that I've ever started on the start date and not three months after. It's my little moment of joy and I may not get another. Anyway, I may have started but I haven't finished yet.

Cheers

Remember Hermon, we have to finish ahead of you, unless we bend the rules and start on our date and finish on yours. But we wouldn't do something like that now, would we Shane ???

Of course not. May 1st is the start date and we must play by the rules. I do feel sorry for those of us that are time zone impaired though.
